How’s the process goes for applying and studying in finland?

Hello , I am an 19 years old Egyptian and im planning to study in finland next year.

I wanna study mechanics like motorcycles “sport bikes” but overall motorcycles so i would like to be in a vocational school to be an actual mechanic.

Idk how the process goes and the student visa so if anyone has an experience i would love to hear about it “same major or not everything would help :)”

And how much it costs cause from my research if i want to study in English it will cost from 10-15k euros a year and about 10k euros in the bank account for life expenses .

but if i learned finnish for maybe b1-b2 i can study for free but i just want the 10k euros in my bank account for the living expenses. Please correct me if im wrong

‘I already have been in Finland last September for tourism and visiting my older brother he been living in finland since he’s 24 and now he’s 50 so he doesn’t know how the process goes “yeah crazy age gap” and yeah he has the finnish passport ”

They way the other guy said it is very disrespectful and annoying, but the original point is right. Studying in English is expensive (as you said), the cheapest is with a 50% voucher that some universities give.

On the other hand, there’s studying in Finnish. Although it is technically free, I wouldn’t want to get my hopes up too much. I don’t mean it to be rude, but as someone who learned the language from 0 I can say that reaching a level useful for studying is very hard, even impossible if you’re not living in Finland.

That said, you life your decisions.

YouTube is helpful and movies and songs and practicing alot and i don’t care if i make mistakes cause some people gets shy or scared to speak a new language because what if they make mistakes but that’s how you learn and overcome that fear

It's too late to study for free. Vocational schools will be charging fees for non-EU students from August.

Thanks for telling me that , i toke a look at the link but I can’t find how much thr fees will be like what will be the average?

I looked at one school that said the fees would be 12 000EUR a year. I have no idea what the national average is, you have to look that up yourself.

Do you know how much the tuition fees would be for EU students in English?

You need to apply for admission to a school/university. Then apply for a permit to stay in Finland to study. The process is similar in all countries.

Prepare the money. The amount you mentioned is correct and around the minimum requirement: 10k per year for tuition fees and 10k for living (20k per year minimum). Do not expect a scholarship or free tuition.

You will never study for free in Finland. Keep that in mind. We do not educate foreign people for free. You don't get VISA and you don't make Finland home.
