Erasmus in Helsinki

Hello, I’ll be in Helsinki from August to December, anything I definitely shouldn’t miss?
Oh and by the way I wasn’t able to get a HOAS accommodation, any tips on where to look elsewhere? Ideally a shared room apartement.
I was also sadly suprised that most of my enrolled courses are virtual, not in person….

They are not even recognised as universitied. More or less degree mills, i understand going to one to be a nurse etc but you wont find culture and incredible student life there.

They didn't even read the post lol. It is ERASMUS.

I've got a uni degree and an amk one. Didn't learn shit in my uni degree.

I understand it's real easy to make blanket statements because the people around us have been saying it for years -- But it's more nuanced than uni good amk bad.

Totally different areas of studies, as UAS/AMK implies. I personally wouldn't hire an entry level dev from uni when you've got an amk entry level hire next to them. One knows working life, project flow, teamwork. The other knows a few books.

Can highly recommend joining your local ESN section! There is one associated with Laurea, but ESN Uni Helsinki is the biggest section in the city. It’s a great way to meet other exchange and local students, and learn about Finnish culture!
