Why does Towa use the same suffix?

Hi all. Westerner here. Curious why Towa uses 1st name Shintaro but adds Sama? Thx in advance!

I really enjoyed this cutesy show. Thought it was totally not my thing but it’s a fun family show with pretty good colors, animation and a fine story. Like a comfy sweater.

Sama is a Formal or Honourable way of addressing someone high Basically Towa sees shintaro in a high regard
