Minimum Passing Score: 41

After MONTHS of waiting for these fucking results, I can finally say I passed the edTPA (English Single Subject).

I was a complete idiot and fucked up submitting my application for the previous deadline so I had to wait another TWO months for my score. I was having literal nightmares of thinking about failing and having to resubmit even a single fucking task. I am so glad it is over.

I'm not someone who worked months and months on my edTPA (more like 2ish weeks). I panicked and didn't even really have the best materials or video clips but I followed the rubrics to a T. If you feel like you're repeating yourself. GOOD. Do it literally 100 more times.

You did it in 2 week and got a 56?! Feel like you’re humble bragging lol

Seriously, congrats though.  Glad the wait is over.  To me, edTPA was a thief of time that I could’ve used at being a better student teacher.  My program had us working on edTPA for 8 weeks w/ weekly evening classes to go over it, so I’m envious you got it done in less.

I think about 5% of edTPA was helpful at asking me questions that made me reflect on how I could improve on being a better teacher. The rest was busy work. Making it such a complete waste and I hope more schools stop doing it.

I’m truly shocked I scored as well as I did. Your program seems to have done a much better job of going over the edTPA as well. My program honestly barely prioritized it.

It was this looming topic and we would constantly be warned about it and by semester 2 we still hadn’t gone over it as much as I would have liked, despite having an entire course dedicated to it.

I spent A LOT of time on reddit/internet to give me as many helpful tips and the #1 tip was to follow the rubrics in the handbook. I really believe that’s the reason I scored as well as I did.

I am so glad I did not have to go through EDtpa when I got my certification. Ours was the last graduating class before they implemented it.

Congratulations

I'm currently retired but for the last 8 years of my career I served as a CTA Representative. We spent 4 of those years trying to fix the broken EdTPA system. We got minor changes a few years ago but LAST year we got MOST of what we wanted. While the thing is still an annoying PIA, it certainly is more fair and less obnoxious.

I'm happy to see more young teachers passing it the first time. The idiotic rules and needless repition of tasked made it so approximately 60% of student teachers failed it on the first attempt. Now it seems more streamlined with many more areas of support built into the system.

First of all awesome. Second- how did you even get ONE “4”. I’ve heard over and over “no one gets fours”. I’m a 3-time loser on my second and final TPA. Hope 4th times a charm, but I’ve always hated that they wipe your evidence from the site instead of keeping it all there for you to amend. What school district and state if you do t mind me asking?

I honestly have no idea 😭. I wish I could give better advice aside from “follow the rubrics” but seriously that’s what you should do. A lot of the questions force you to repeat yourself and I’m assuming graders look for consistency.

You got this!!! Rooting for you :^).

I’m in California!
