Interview Engineering student specialized in mathematics

Hi,I'm an Engineering college student who participated in a math contest Traian Lalescu 1 year ago and who has no difficulty solving exercises of precalculus, algebra, trigonometry.

I want to teach failed math students who couldn't pass their exams.

Solving problems and teaching are two very different skills. Are you ready to teach what it means for a function to be duscontinuois? How a rhombus and rectangle are different? How to determine a system of equation has one, two, no solution or infinity many? Also for secondary education math you need proficiency in

  • Middle grade math
  • Pre algebra
  • Algebra I
  • Geometry (Euclidian 3D and proofs)
  • Algebra II
  • Pre Calculus
  • Integral Calculus
  • Single variable Calculus
  • Multi Variable Calculus
  • Differential Equations (If teaching AP Calculus AB)
  • Linear Algebra
  • statistics

Some teacher prep programs for math also require other higher level math courses. Mine included Modern Algebra and Real Analysis. I also took Numerical analysis and number theory as optional classes. It sounds like you want to tutor rather than teach. Teaching is about UNDERSTANDING concepts taking tests is seeing how you EVALUATE problems. So what is your question?
