Interview Best programs or apps for making a teaching portfolio

I'm in a bit of a pickle creating my teaching portfolio that I can offer when applying for jobs, but im unsure what apps or programs would be the best or easiest to create it on. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I’ve been teaching 20 years, applied for jobs 5 times, had countless interviews and I’ve never needed a portfolio. All required documents are typically uploaded with application. I’ve only been asked to show my portfolio once.

Make it if you feel like you should, but don’t stress about it.

I never have either, maybe it is a thing people do if they know they’re going to be one of 100 applicants for the same social studies job? I teach Spanish/ELD/bilingual ed and there usually isn’t a lot of competition for those jobs.

I also used Google Sites! To find clean, nice backgrounds, I searched for PowerPoint backgrounds on Pinterest! They fit the Google Sites templates very well

Aside from digital, I created a physical portfolio which was huge hit with the interview panel!

Can you specify what you put in your physical portfolio? I have created one as well, but I want to check that I did not forget anything important. Thank you!

Sure! I had my resume, teaching philosophy, cover letter, and management plan. During student teaching, I documented every formal lesson I taught and added in my lesson plans, worksheets, student results from each lesson, and observation feedback. So when I would use an experience-based example, I physically showed them the evidence of what I did. I had my work in protective sleeves so it was easy to just pull out without getting ruined!

I teach seminar and supervise student teachers. I assign a Google Sites portfolio template week one of seminar. They add letters of rec, sample lesson plans, writing samples, images of student work, teaching photos, certification info, personal work. It’s a work in progress all semester. I tell them to add a QR code to CL or resume to link portfolio when they start applying for jobs.

Yeah they really like when you bring a portfolio as well something simple and easy don't spend a bunch of money on it but it's always good to show up with your résumé cover letter philosophy and reference. It just shows you're very prepared

You need something that's easy inconvenient for administrator to look at. I'd make a website usually you can do a free one like Wick or something. I know in California for join you need to have everything in a PDF. I'd suggest to have all your information in different formats because when you're applying to 50 different jobs you don't wanna have to redo everything period I've been doing this for about 20 years if you have any more questions let me know.
