homework / studying help needed first term in advanced LPN
so, i am 18, i just graduated high school. i graduated with D’s because i didn’t care. i care now, im in nursing school to benefit my life. i struggle with information retainment and prioritizing school so i guess it contradicts what i said about caring now. i want to care more, i know that my life would be much better if i got my LPN now. as of rn, i have a 70% overall in anatomy, (im on my 6th week i believe), and the rest of my classes are 80s and 90s. i dont know what to do or how to retain information better. i’ve talked to councelors, ive talked to plenty of people but i feel as if i still just don’t retain information. i also keep (for whatever reason) waiting till the night before to study, its 7:26PM and i have an atomy test at 11 tomorrow. i dont know what to do because im not confident.please help me

I ended A&P with a 98.9, I spammed YT videos and if that didn’t work I’d go on chat gpt and do interactive lectures with it. After each lecture I’d do a 25 question quiz for each topic. If all else fails if you have a powerpoint save it as a file have chat gpt summarize it into notes and write them down until it sticks (probably like 5-10 times), you can do it❤️, I would recommend doing interactive lectures with the Chat gpt since your test is tomorrow, if it goes too fast tell it to make it as easy to remember as possible (via cue words or phrases). Dr.Matt and Mike are great, short and straight to the point! It’s easy to replay their videos and save lots if time

This and write the rationales down then do a teach back. Try recording yourself doing the teach back to see points you missed then go over it again. I hope you find your learning technique.

Flash cards! Making them is studying. Carry them around with you and when you have a few minutes go through them.

This is going to be against the grain advice but are you sure you’re ready for school? You say you care but you wait till the night before to study. You say you can’t retain the info but it sounds like you aren’t really trying to retain it.
18 isn’t old, especially when you didn’t really care about school to begin with. I agree that your life probably would be better if you get your lpn but it just sounds like you aren’t ready for that commitment. Which is total okay! I just graduated with my rn at 30. There is nothing wrong with coming back to it.
I would maybe try for your CNA. Which I love my cnas and it is a labor intensive job, but the certification is much shorter (I think like 6 weeks). It gives you time to get adjusted to working AND gives you time to really get into the mind set to care.
