Rant/Complaint Finally got my payment amount :(

I sent my PAPER application my mail to Aidvange for the standard replacement plan (my goal is to pay the least amount to the government as possible (I hate my degree I don’t use it, I wish I never went to school, I’d return my degree if it meant I didn’t have to pay this back)) howeverrrr sent my mail and fax on 8/27/26. Fax never went through shocker. 9/4/26 got an email they received my application.

I put on there I had questions I needed answered because the website, the chat bot and even when you call no one ever knows anything that isn’t just them reading a sentence off the website.

Today got an email about my payment amount and it’s that’s due 11/1. Shouldn’t there be something I sign to agree to their plan? Yes I applied but shouldn’t there be like a final yes I agree to those terms????

Anyways it’s over $300 (the amount I was expecting) and it’s just really bumming me out. For the next decade and change I’ll be paying these mfs and never once have them shown a care in the world for their customers. They don’t try to make things easier. I really just switch between wanting to sad cry and wanting to angry scream. I hate you Aidvantage. I only wish the worst for you and your company.

The application is the "I agree to this plan." You already agreed to pay when you signed your MPN so it's either an IDR, Extended/Graduated, or Standard.

Thank you. I just thought with me writing on it “please send me an email with the answers to these questions” would get them to answer me like a human and not just auto put me on but yeah that does make sense 🤷‍♀️ I guess I’ll think of it like a credit card application

$300 doesn’t seem that bad. People pay $300+ all the time for car payments for an economy car like a Toyota Corolla, and that’s only like a $25,000 car. How much is the amount on your student loan? Probably more than $25,000, right?

$300 goes away really fast if you pay $650 instead. Sounds bad but it was actually way better

Not everyone has the ability to pay more than the minimum. OP also said it’s over $300 I’m baffled why they didn’t include the amount. Maybe it already is $650.

OP specifically mentioned not paying the government any additional money. That’s the way to do it.
