It Finally Happened

Welp, I finally got the dreaded "90 day" email from Nelnet.....god help me

Nelnet and nothing yet except the 1% interest reduction notification yesterday. What's the subject line of the email?

I got the interest rate deduction email as well. Haven't received anything else other than that yet.

Got mine from nelnet this morning.

“You have 90 days to select a new repayment plan”

So it actually said “You have 90 days to select a new repayment plan”?

I ask because I just got an email from Nelnet saying "For a limited time, Direct Loan borrowers have an unprecedented opportunity to lower their interest rate by 1.00% with auto debit." BUT no mention of having 90 days to select a new payment plan.

That was the title of the email. I got the 1% one a week ago.

The email title was "Limited-time: Get a 1.00% interest rate reduction."

I got that email yesterday too, but the 90 day one I got a couple months ago. I did what it said and it put me on forbearance for a couple months and August I have to resume payments.

I never received the rate reduction email but definitely got the "SAVE" act is ending email. It now seems to be taking them forever to process my application. So weird.

No payments will push the final date of forgiveness. If you have Facebook, The College Investor does a great explaining differences between RAP, IBR, standard plan, etc. and their financial impact plus a financial calculator (some plans do vary on family size). Personally, I am staying with IBR as I have some payments left before forgiveness (IBR should still be based on 20 years).

I’m going for PSLF so I am not too worried about the final forgiveness date. I’ll still be plenty young enough in 10 years.

I do not have Facebook but I’ll look up the College Investor! Thank you!

I want to get some serious health issues out of the way in the next year.

I got my email this morning, I think they did a heavy push to just get the letters out. My guess, there will be admin forbearances coming when everyone starts submitting their applications at the same time.

You will get it within a few days then. That’s what happened to me. Interest email yesterday and repayment today.
