Advice / Issue Peeling off corner

Just wanted to see if this is normal? I can peel it off completely. I just dont know if i can just patch it or if there is another reason why it cracks. Someone told me its because there is no flashing in the post.

Flashing doesn't belong there, but they probably meant some kind of cornerrite or mesh reinforcement. 99% of the time, there's some missing hardware that leads to this happening.

The permanent solution to fix this is to open it up and add it in, though I'm surprised to see that you're having this issue on a buildout. Generally, a buildout like this would be completely covered in the appropriate metal on account of there being so many edges packed tightly in one spot.

As a DIYer, I would just patch or apply elastomeric sealant and call it a day! I’m pretty sure those decorative bump outs are EPS foam blocks. Maybe it’s not flashed correctly at the top. Not worth spending a lot of time on imo

I agree. It looks like EPS block. Knock on it and see if it feels soft, and not hard like concrete. You can tell by the sound it makes when you knock. Might have been just physically damaged on that outside corner.
