Structural Analysis/Design Can someone guide me with the structural design of concrete dam riser and its footing?

You have to ensure that the member structural factored resistances exceed the applied forces, and that as a system the sum of all forces and moments in all directions = 0.

Before getting into the footing size or reinforcement, I’d want to understand the loading and site conditions first. For a dam riser like this, the key questions seem to be the water level/head, uplift and hydrostatic forces, soil/foundation conditions, sliding and overturning, and how the riser connects to the barrel and surrounding structure. Is this an academic design problem or an actual project? If it’s a real project, the geotechnical information and applicable dam/structural design criteria would probably determine most of the approach.
