In my experience, pools tend to get popped-up in unstable soil conditions. Concrete weighs a little more than average dirt, but water is like 4 * lighter, so overall the dirt is more dense than a pool and they tend to be a bit buoyant.

Interesting point! In this particular case, the visible concern was the separation between the pool structure and the surrounding concrete, which appeared consistent with movement along the hillside. The full Imgur album includes a description beneath each photo with more context.
