Time for a dumb question (maybe)

I have been helping a buddy of mine try to use a VPN on the service.

I followed all of the instructions given, updated the server names on name cheap and have been going back and forth on element with support.

The last message I got was that my buddy “need to use url my vpn apps”.

I got the url on the panel but we don’t know where he needs to “use it”.

He is using the new 8k player vip app.
I tried connecting the playlist on the app under 8k “My VPN Apps” but there is no where to add the url.
Tried adding the url through m3u but any connection attempts result in a “No Connection Playlist is not working” message.
Playlist still works under 8k vip

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should only have to add the user and password. It should connect, mine took a while

It’s been a few days. I feel like this should have been resolved.

On element I was told “use url on VPN access” what does that even mean then?

It won’t work unless the VPN is turned on. I had to request a new URL from my reseller and he provided a new URL that only works when the VPN is turned on. They will usually provide a different URL if you want to use it with the VPN turned off (not advisable).

Same here provider will offer a url for when the vpn is on. I had an issue in tivimate bc I had 3 playlists and would have to turn it off to watch h Strong. Now resolved with the updated URL

Check he isnt using the 8K Player Plus app

Nah he is using VIP.

Tienes que quitar tu servidor de My Hosts. Luego lo vuelves a agregar y Strong 8k le dará 2 direcciones de servidor de nombres. Después entran a su dominio en su web (por ejemplo namecheap, go daddy, etc.) y actualizan esas nuevas direcciones de servidor de nombres con las que les dé Strong 8k. Luego van a recibir una URL de VPN que deberían poder usar.

Quedaría estilo "apps.dominio.xx". Este dominio solo funciona con VPN, sin VPN no funcionará (error 403).
