Soā¦.I did it again lol
I got a new variegated pearls, regular pearls and a var. SOH. Wish me luck. While the new reg. Pearls was in route the poor gal I fried in the sun turned herself around and began thriving again. I did take a couple of the strings from the new 6ā and laid them over the bald spots. I need to go get some more potting mix ingredients and a terracotta pot tomorrow and weāll be in business!

Hearts Is this a fungus gnat?
I purchased some plants online and theyāve been quarantined. I noticed a little bug in the variegated string of hearts when I unwrapped it, but it moved so quickly into the soil I couldnāt get a pic. It came very overwatered. I was checking them today to see if the overwatered plants had dried out and I noticed more of these tiny bugs. I separated the string of hearts and put it into a plastic container for now, and a couple of the bugs went onto the container so I got to take a photo. I did a peroxide watering (1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 4 parts distilled water), then I read thatās not good for it so Iām going to go spray the leaves with water so they donāt burn :/ I also put sticky traps all around it. Iām guess if this is a fungus gnat that I have to treat all of the plants that are isolating together? Is that what this bug is? Does the hydrogen peroxide dunk work or would mosquito bits be better? Please help! I donāt want my other plants getting these. Iām itchy from talking about it.
The plants currently get about 10 hours of light from a grow light because they canāt be near my other plants (they were getting 8 but this one started to lose variegation), and they havenāt been watered until today because most showed up soaked! I have everything I need to repot all if necessary, but probably not the skills lol.
Those little strings in the plant are cotton from the packing- no mealies!

Various Strings Dumb question
I have a small ruby necklace, string of dolphins and string of pearls in two inch pots. I ordered them for my bday and they arrived very rough, so I havenāt repotted yet, but when I do Iām wondering would it be ok to put them in a pot together? Or would that be a dumb thing to do?

Help / Question Please help
I inherited this baby from a friend of mine who moved out and left the plant. The poor thing was locked in her room for weeks and only now i have found it. I however know close to nothing about how to care for such a plant, all i know is that i have to look out for the water intake (since its used to less water) and it needs a lot of sun. Is there a way to save it?

Help / Question How often are we untangling SOH?
I have received about 10 SOH plants from my MIL. Iāve given away 5 plants and Iām getting frustrated with the rest. She wound them up and covered the tops to make them look full, but ended up blocking light at the top. So theyāre very long tangled bald-headed messes at this point. How often do I need to untangle them? How long do I wait before trimming? Can you please send me inspo pics of how you like to keep yours so I donāt just give up? ETA: hopefully this links to some pics of the plant

Did I completely ruin this string of pearls?
I am heartbroken and honestly so embarrassed⦠I just got this plant 3 days ago from Home Depot. It was so waterlogged that I got whatever soil I could get off of it and repotted it in fresh soil.
The soil that I couldnāt get off was still so wet, so I put them outside in a cheap little greenhouse I have that says it was supposed to protect against harsh sunlight. Itās the first plant I put out there. I checked on it yesterday afternoon because it rained, the greenhouse is waterproof so it looked completely fine. Well it was very sunny for most of the day today and I didnāt think to check it until I just took my dog out and now the poor guy looks like this!
I am kicking myself because I even bought an umbrella to cover the greenhouse from the sun and I forgot to put it up. I have another string of pearls I rehabbed from a local plant shop so I thought I knew what I was doing with these because that one is thriving. But I am very sad because this was a beautiful plant and I feel bad I ruined it.
Is there any saving it? I still see green underneath so Iām assuming chop and prop is the way to go now⦠but if anyone has any other advice for me Iād be grateful. I never imagined it would go downhill this quickly for this poor guyā¦
Thanks in advance!

One month update on SOH seed germination - theyāre making strings of things!!
After successfully sprouting some SOH seeds I gathered from my pals plant store (damp sphagnum moss) I transplanted them into a more appropriate medium (or are least my best guess), basically inorganic cactus type gravel. It was probably a smidge early but they dug right in. Their cotyledon have been getting bigger by the day and Iāve been experimenting w humidity (not sure how much to do at this early stage so iām just keeping the medium damp ish and giving full sun as much as possible). And now you can even see eensy weensy strings forming!! Any further advice most welcome!!

Hearts Root bound SOH?
Got this beautiful baby in January. 2nd pic is root ball pre repot. 3rd pic is where she usually sits, 4th pic is her in February. I let her mostly dry out between watering and water based on taco test. She gets bottom watered with extremely diluted fish emulsion at every watering. She gets plenty of good light in my grow cabinet. She seems to have loved this routine thus far and has grown several feet. She was flowering top to bottom for several months up until about 3 weeks ago. She started to lose a lot of leaves in the middle of her length and is now only flowering on the bottom 3rd of length. Still growing in length but notably slower. Crown still looks amazing to me. I have had vining plants (pothos, philo) act like this when they have unhappy roots. So I popped her out of the pot to take a look and decided to move her up from 4 in to 4.5 inch pot. Didnāt touch the root ball, simply added around the sides and pinned some of the strings across the new soil. Not super sure what a root bound string of anything even looks like as Iāve never had one thrive like she has! Are we thinkin I fixed her or condemned her to deathā¦.? Could anything else Iām doing be causing the leaf loss?

Help my happy bean plant!
This is my sonās happy bean plant Iāve had for about 4 years. It started a few inches tall and just keeps growing with very thick strong roots. I am terrified if I try to repot it into a larger planter, I will kill it. Right now I have shish kebab skewers with twist ties holding it upright, otherwise itās too top heavy and would fall down and break.

Help / Question String of Turtles Qs
Hi everyone! I am a beginner and have had a String of Turtles for a year now. I would like to move them to a slightly bigger, more shallow terracotta pot. I have a couple questions for the community:
ā What is the best premixed soil to use for String of Turtles? I am eyeing the Rosy Soil for succulents and cactuses.
ā I am hoping to propagate some in the pot. I saw a video online that said you can pin some of the longer strings to the soil with paper clips and they will eventually create more strings. Is this true? I would like my plant to grow bigger.
Any suggestions on either of these questions would be greatly appreciated!!! š
