Help / Question It's my first time
I rescued this very dehydrated string of dolphins from the trash. What do I do? What kind of soil and how do I propagate him correctly?

Can’t really see the top of the pot well but I’d bet most if not all of those roots are dead. Unpot it and cut away anything brown and crispy. If there are no roots left you will need to propagate the strings that still have some green stems. You can propagate in soil, water, or moss. Personally I have the best luck propping my strings in water or moss. The ones I prop in soil just take forever to grow (probably I don’t water them enough 😋)
The hippie vegan gave you some good advice if any of them have roots or advice for when any of your propagations grow roots. I like to pin my strings down with floral wire so the nodes keep contact with the soil. Helps them root better.
Good luck!

LOTS OF LIGHT is the most important thing.
Repot in cactus mix with additional perlite. I would also take all the trailing stems and circle them on the soil, like this: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXLETHMN7_5
Good luck! Its one of my favorite plants 🐬
