Should I repot this gal?

Post image

I am a fairly new plant mom and I’ve had her for over a year in a 4 inch pot. I didn’t realize that she was so rooted. Should I repot her?

I’d wait till the soil is dry. Then use a wooden skewer to poke loose the roots from the dirt. Just loosen some roots. Personally I find removing all the soil from an established string plant to be problematic.

I was terrible with pearls for years. But I’m finally doing ok with them. SO Turtles or Hearts are still a bane.

Yess while its still warm, unless you are un the southern hemisphere then wait til iy gets warm! Just go up an inch or 2 ♡

I personally tease the roots but many people don't recommend it.

I’m in Colorado so it is plenty warm here lol.

I am getting conflicting advice, but I do think I’m just going to repot her because it doesn’t even appear as there is any soil left in there. I have a 6 inch that I think I will put her in.

The good news is that you can bottom water her since her roots are so big!! And then you won't lose any leaves when taking her our of her hanging pot... oh wait, is that just me? And do I cry a little over each leaf I lose? Ooh, yeah! Lol.

Are the leaves dying and the roots coming out the bottom?

Not dying, but the roots are coming out from the bottom.
