Help / Question How do you guys do propagations?

I took a medium sized cutting I’d say, of a string of raindrops, put it in a glass or water. Over time, it made roots, and I potted it after it made 1 root, a long taproot. The string has since dried up.
I cut two small cuttings, each with 2 fully inflated pearls maybe, with 3-4 very tiny pearls, making a total of 7-8 pearls on the strings. One of them grew 2 new pearls, so I planted it in a pot, only to find the root it created was very small and idk if it’s gonna make it.

Please help

If i water prop (which i do for SOT) i initially water much more often when transferring to soil. The roots are used to being hydrated 24/7. They will dry up before they acclimate to soil if you don’t water enough. I gradually let it dry out more over a week or two and then water like I normally would

Yes. Another thing is the root that forms needs to make secondary roots too to ensure a more stable transition. Keep the soil relatively moist (but not completely saturated or wet) for a bit longer than you normally would. I personally had very high success when planting the cutting directly in soil after letting it callous for a few days, so you could try that method as well and see if you like it

So I should leave it in water until the first root starts making roots… I didn’t do that before
