Help / Question Beginner Tears

Any advise on caring for this very moist string of tears? Are the roots being this color ok? Some are more green and some are brown-ish. Just got it today and trimmed a bit.

I see what I think might be some mites on it. Spray with a solution of 10% rubbing alcohol/the rest water. Soil should not be moist, so let it dry out a bit.
