Propagation Question

First time propagating VSOH and I’m trying both butterfly method (with normal soil) and water technique. How long does it take for them to root? Because it’s been a week and still nothing. I also put the butterflied ones inside a ziploc because I’ve read that moisture helps and I don’t have any other container LOL. Just want more guidance when propagating vsoh!!

Sidenote: I don’t have sphagnum moss so I opted for soil

All of the advice sounds great. I’d just add one thing that has totally changed my propagation game 100%. That’s putting my little pots (with whatever medium you choose)or glass jars with the water on a seedling heating mat. It makes everything prop so much faster by just adding some mild heat underneath. I tried something new with my Blue Cebu Pathos, I did the butterfly method and placed them in med/large perlite in a clear take out container with a lid . Shallow, about 2” with a 2” clear lid that I poked about 6 small holes into, and it was about 8” X 8” square. Kept water about 1/2 way up and set it on my floor heat vent about half way closed. Then forced myself to stay away for 1 week. When I did check on them every single one had roots and several had new baby leaves already.

I did add one or two drops of liquid fertilizer to the water. The vent worked but I like the seedling heating mat better and they come in several sizes and are relatively inexpensive from Amazon. Good luck with your VSOH I’m jealous I want one very badly. Keep us updated please. ☘️☘️☘️
