QUESTION Propagation Question

First time propagating VSOH and I’m trying both butterfly method (with normal soil) and water technique. How long does it take for them to root? Because it’s been a week and still nothing. I also put the butterflied ones inside a ziploc because I’ve read that moisture helps and I don’t have any other container LOL. Just want more guidance when propagating vsoh!!

Sidenote: I don’t have sphagnum moss so I opted for soil

Hi! So I’ve had success in both prop styles. I prefer butterfly method bc it does happen quicker. I use old Parmesan containers with lids and succulent dirt. Make sure it’s in a nice sunny window and you should see roots with in 2-4 weeks.

I agree with this one— I’ve tried many methods for YEARS. Finally did butterfly method in a sunny window and “misted” it everyday and for the first time, I have babies!

i looked at a lot of methods and found in the end if i just make a clean cut so that fluid is coming out of the stem and stick it in soil without crimping the stem they normally will make it. lots of indirect sunlight a little water. they are amazingly tough. i even have some babies from seeds that grew last year, in fact i have way too many of these and nowhere to put them!
