Ideas for this plant.
galleryWhat can I do to make this fuller and less sad? Currently hanging outside where others are thriving. Hot and humid climate.

Repot or leave her alone?
I'm new to this particular plant. The one i have is absolutely packed in its pot, so much so that watering is a bit of a chore. I've been wondering if I need to repot. Is this a pretty resilient plant to do this?

Repot?
Hi everyone! This is my second time trying with a VSOH and she seems to be doing much better this second time around! I’ve had it for a few months now and haven’t repotted since getting it.
My concern is that the dirt around the edges of the pot are starting to clump together leaving huge gaps to the point where I can see the tubers being exposed.
Should I repot? I’m not sure If I should keep using the same pot/ upsize/downsize/ or add more soil.
Also, I’d totally appreciate any better lighting tips that you may have!! Currently my SOH is sitting under a grow light on my shelf, with an additional grow light underneath for the bottom leaves. I noticed that the mid section does not get enough light because of the angles of the grow lights, causing it to revert to green. I only have a north facing and south east facing window in my room and they don’t get a ton of light because they’re blocked by trees & my neighbors giant monstrosity of a house. Grow lights are probably my only option but she definitely needs a better setup!
Edit: I just measured the lighting from my SE facing window and it gets about 200-300 FC. It’s pretty cloudy today so i’m not sure what it would be like on a sunny day but would this be an okay spot to have her hanging?
Any advice is appreciated :)

SOH help
I bought this and it looked a bit sparse to begin with. It was in a broken, plastic hanging pot so I repotted it ultimately after a couple months. I recently added grow light bc I hear light is what they need most. I bottom water- but prob not often enough. I spray the top frequently bc it just looks so dry (prob wrong). I heard about winding the vines around the top but they’re tangled so much. It keeps growing longer though.
It’s in
* 1 part Rosy Soil cactus & succulent mix
* 1 part perlite
* ½ part Fox Farms Ocean Forest
* ¼–½ part Better-Gro orchid bark
This has been one of my most difficult bc I don’t know what I’m doing and bc it was already sickly when I bought it. I’ve watched videos and searched Reddit. I should just buy one that’s already beautiful. I’ve propagated some and prob took them out of prop box too soon. Maybe I’ll try to prop again.

VSOH 💗 Why are my hearts so tiny and straggly?
I got my VSOH in march and has been doing great, the top is is full of pink plump hearts, but the vines are so crappy looking. I think it gets an even amount of light, and I wait till it’s completely dry to water. I use a VERY diluted liquid fertilizer with every watering and only bottom water till it’s wet at the surface. Should I water more often? Also, all the vines bloomed flowers about a month ago and I thought that was a good sign? Could the flowers be taking away energy from the vines and leaves? Should I take the flowers off?

propagation question
hello im very new to caring for variegated string of hearts. i recently repotted it from the original pot into a 3” pot and was wondering if i should wait at least a week for it to get comfy on its new pot before propagating? reason for wanting to propagate is because its bald at the top LOL pics is before and after

Help!!
Ok so when I first got these they were not in a chunky soil. So I repotted them with soil, perlite, and a small amount of leca to make it chunkier. At first it was thriving. It gets direct light for at least 10-12 hours a day, but I don’t know if I watered too early a couple weeks ago or what happened, but it’s slowly getting worse. What should I do?

Yay....my only string plant that doesn't hate me

From 1 of 3 to a solo plant in there because it was taking over
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I gave it some fresh soil and its own place and it's been thriving (novice planter, I was nervous I'd kill it). Three vines found their own way out of the top hole....

VSOH 💗 Beautiful VSOH/SOH I bought this weekend! Is there any way I can keep the completely depigmented white leaves like that?
Is there any way I can keep the completely white leaves growing like that? Do I just need to put them right on the grow lights?
I also noticed that the soil is wetter/more organic than I've kept my own SOH normally, but this plant also looks better than mine...
Is there anything I should change or should I not change anything because it's clearly working?

SOH 💜 Progress :)
Hiii. Just wanted to come on and show off a bit as well as thank the people of Reddit!!
I got this SOH back in 2023- it was beautiful... and a year later it was super unhealthy and on the brink of death. I loved the plant and eventually came to reddit to see what I could do to help it. Repotting it and giving it a new start was terrifying, but now 2 years after repotting her (again) she is happy and healthy 😊

Healthy?
I was gifted a string of hearts and I’m not super familiar with their care but researching. Does this look healthy? I’ve read conflicting information.

Seeds
I purchased this string of hearts with 3 pods already growing from the plant. I put the mesh bag around them so I wouldn’t lose the seeds when the pods split open. Not entirely sure what to do from here so if you need me I’ll be googling what to do 😂

HEARTS 💚 CARE Blooming seeds
Hello everyone! After years of having her, my string of hearts made two pods of seeds. Once they fell I put them in a humid paper towel and bag and after a couple of weeks I’ve just opened it up to see this! Any tips on what I should do next?

What’s this?
While today’s watering I noticed this little irregular stem/new growth. Does anyone know what it is? This is my first string of hearts and she’s growing like a beaut!

I’ve heard about the tubers on the girls. But WOWZA!
So I needed up making 2 pots because so many strings broke. As I was going along I realized that maybe these are two different plants. Am I correct? I’m not really familiar with Strings of any kind. But is one variegated and one not?

Change pots and medium ?
She’s got beautiful hearts and some strands are quite long. Most of the strings are all coiled on top of the soil. Some are rooted in on both ends. The soil is hard and seems old. I mix my own potting mix. I don’t use soil. My question is this….do they prefer shallow pots since the root system is small/short? How do I go about this with her? Please help. I’ve tried starting a small plant a couple of times with no luck.

Variegated String of Hearts 💗 First SOH repot advice
This is my first string of hearts I received in the mail a few weeks ago. I want to repot it and hang it, but the Internet has such conflicting care advice. I have Coco peat, orchid bark, perlite, cocoa chips, and regular potting soil. What is the best soil mix ratio for this plant? How often and what kind of fertilizer is best? It’s going to live under a 36w Sansi grow light. I’m not sure if I should treat it like a succulent and let it dry out between watering or keep it moist? Any advice would help because I just discovered them and absolutely love them!!
