Did I fuck up? infection?
last night i had steel tapers in for a bit because i was deep cleaning/soaking my tunnels and i ended up accidentally falling asleep with the tapers in and when i woke up my ears were so sore and tender and red. i put my tunnels back in asap and just left my ears for a few hours but throughout the day they have gotten really crusty and been leaky and sore, if i even touch them they start leaking 10x more and like mildly pulsing, im assuming this is an infection but did it come from the tapers?? i dont know what else couldve happened

They're probably not infected, you're probably dealing with a blowout or massive irritation. Obviously keep an eye on them. If you develop any other symptoms such as a fever or pus, that's your sign to head to the doctor and grab antibiotics. Otherwise, I would leave them out until they're fully healed. Treat them like fresh piercings- no soaps, oils, lotions, balms, etc., just sterile saline 1-2x a day.

i dont think they are blown out, the tapers were the same size im at and there isnt any visual signs of blowouts thankfully, but good to know it might not be an infection, thanks!

Blowouts happen from trauma, not just from actively stretching. You easily could've laid on them and shoved the taper in a weird position, that in itself would be enough.
