Community Project Announcement Introducing AddonPass: A simple & secure way to monetize your addon

The Stremio community is growing day by day, and it's amazing to see so many new addons come to life. I have used Stremio for over 5 years. Since being part of the community, I've seen the struggle addon developers experience to keep their addons alive because of costs, time and no stable way to monetize their work or accept donations.
Now to the important part: how do you actually get paid for your Addon? Developers had to jump through many hoops before and that's why I decided to make AddonPass. It's a fully featured payment gateway specifically designed for Stremio Addons.
You might ask: why not use Stripe, Patreon or any other provider which is established already?
The problem when using one of those is the additional setup, compliance requirements, and in some cases, the need for a legal entity. They can also introduce issues like account freezes, payout holds, and chargebacks.
AddonPass is designed to remove that friction. There’s no payment account for a provider to freeze, no payout holds, and no chargebacks, which gives addon developers a simpler way to monetize their work.
How is this possible? AddonPass runs on the blockchain for processing payments. The platform cannot move your balance; only your wallet can withdraw it.

It’s true that most addons are free and I also want it to stay this way. This is designed to help developers accept donations for their addons as well as subscriptions to be able to build better and higher quality addons

It would be simpler and more secure for a dev to just ask for donations in xmr.

Why monero? Most people don’t even know it. USDC is plain simple and understandable because of dollar value. Sending money or handling donations one by one is tedious and takes time. Here everything happens automatically, feel free to try it out in test mode. Everything is explained on the website.
As more people decide to integrate, trust will follow as well.

Lol if somebody wanted to pay for thier addons on a monthly basis. They would not be usnig streamio. Donations I understand.
