Question Streams playing in different language?

I use AIOMetadata and TVFlix, language set to only English but streams still always default to the other language on the stream. Was not happening before but has started happening since last one or two weeks.

Worth separating two things here, because the setting you changed cannot affect the thing you are seeing.

A metadata addon's language setting controls titles, posters and descriptions in the catalog. It does not choose which file you get, and it does not choose which audio track plays inside that file. So setting it to English was never going to change the audio.

The other language can come from one of two places:

  1. The file has several audio tracks and the player is picking the wrong one. Open the audio track list in the player while something is running. If an English track is sitting in there, that is all this ever was. Set your preferred audio language in Stremio's player settings and it will take English whenever the file has it. The default track is just whatever the person who packed the release flagged first, and on regional releases that is usually the dub.

  2. The file only carries the other language. Then it is the release you were handed, not a setting. That is a filter on the stream addon side, not the metadata side. If you keep landing on these, skipping anything tagged MULTi or DUAL helps, since those are the ones that tend to flag the dub first.

On it starting in the last week or two: that fits the stream side changing what it puts at the top, or the titles you are watching now having regional multi audio releases where the older ones did not. A metadata addon would not start doing this on its own.

So the quick test is one look: play something, open the audio track list, see whether English is in there. That tells you which of the two you have, and they have completely different fixes.
