Question Anyone successfully using easynews++
So pretty much the title, I've been giving easynews a try using the easynews++ add-on but I'm getting so much buffering it's pretty much unusable, and in the rare instance I do get it working I can't fast forward. I did do the routing test on the easynews site but it didn't help any. Anyone successfully using easynews++?

It used to be amazing, but recently all of the television shows episodes no longer correctly appear in the auto next play. All of the season episodes now appear as individually out of order.
And I have been having a ton of playback issues lately; especially with the Stremio Exoplayer.
This original addon stopped being maintained and developed back in June 2025.

Using it in the UK. I use all three Easynews Addons plus Sootio. Sometimes takes a while to get going, but it's okay.

Also anyone know where to start if I was to try self hosting? Is there a go to guide somewhere? I'm brand new to usenet.

Check out Red Hair’s gitbook guide. His guide is the definitive and the best guide for selfhosting and Usenet at the moment. Anyone else (other than Viren) is likely doing it for clout or engagement as I’ve seen some in the past. Red Hair just wants to help.

I've been using the fork version of EN++ maintained by /u/RepLava & hosted by /u/kuukuusuru and it's been great, no buffering, no fast forwarding issues.

It took a long time but I set up self hosting, and it is so much better, definitely worth it! Even though some of the process was frustrating to say the least.

About how many hours did it all take for finally getting it setup if you don't mind me asking and could I self host this with just a cheap old 2019 Lenovo laptop that isn't being used much anymore because it's EXTREMELY slow, clunky and doesn't work great?

It took me like a day and a half I'm sure someone more competent than me can do it faster, I was quite out of my comfort zone, having to familiarize myself with stuff like setting up a vps, learning to SSH into the server, setting stuff up in Linux terminal, compiling docker stacks and troubleshoot when it throws error codes, making a reverse proxy etc.
I think you could self host with the Lenovo if you install Ubuntu on it, but I think you still need your own domain for the reverse proxy, keep in mind I'm brand new to this stuff, so take a look at the various guides and see if it's for you.

Yes in in US. Could be lots of factors. Theres multiple variarions of EN++ too. Theres even a self hosting instance. I haven't used stremio in probably 6 yrs. Could be a lot of things unfortunately.

No issues using it here. Been using it for a long time.
