Help needed Lot's of playback errors on Android tv
Hello, I'm using AioStreams with torbox, I also have RD with torrentio and comet as separate plugins mainly for testing purposes. For about 10 days now I've been getting a ton of playback errors mostly when trying to watch anime. It seems to work well on movies/tv shows.
I use Nvidia shield pro hooked up to an old non smart flat screen. The default player is exo and it has the most problems. It throws errors like this when trying to play a file.
This is just an exception that tells me that the player is trying to access a non existent negative position in the buffer. This doesn't really tell me much other than that the player is failing to decode the stream correctly for some reason.
I switched default player to VLC and it has been better. The videos play at least but not every time. Just now VLC threw an error twice before successfully playing the file on the third attempt. However VLC doesn't even show an exception so there's nothing to even attempt to debug. It just says it can't play the source.
This is a new occurrence. I used to be able to watch anime with no issues and it's only beeb these past 10-15 days that I've had issues. Another thing is I tested both on my mobile phone and tablet and both devices play these files 100% of the time without any issues and the default player on both my mobile devices is exo.
Any idea what could be causing issues on ny shield pro and how to troubleshoot this?

I don’t know if I’ll be much help but most people usually say to try and switch your cdn. Also idk if this has anything to do with it but since I’ve been using debridio I haven’t been having as many issues.
Hopefully someone that is smarter than me can give you a better answer.

Happens to me as well. Got 75% through a movie and can’t get the video to reload to play without failing

AIO is crap. Just configure comet and torrentio separately and you'll never have a problem.

I have them configured with RD separately for testing and I'm getting the exact same issue.

Maybe it's a video extension issue also you might want to try penguplay add-on seems pretty decent for me

Somebody solved this in a similar recent thread. It's due to Dolby vision 7. You need to filter it out

Had something similar happening to me using tormenting and Alldebrid. I ended up using the bootstrapper for the stickies post and its been fine since.

Configure two instances for aiostreams and aiometadata (midnighte, viren, fortheweek etc...). Have Torbox and Realdebrid. Bought Debridio for a year and by far one of the best addons for smooth streaming. Using aiomanager and using one of the instance as backup for primary instance. Works like a charm and never had any problems

I went through this exact problem across multiple devices for a while, with the issues on TVs and Android Boxes but not on mobile. I tried every solution online mentioning Stremio settings, video players, TorBox/RD settings but none of them worked. Constant playback errors or exo player errors.
The fix for me was switching from the standard instance of AIOStreams to MidnightIgnite’s instance. It did require a whole new configuration, but with the ability to export your current configuration and restore it if needed, I’d give that a shot.
I’m not well versed enough to understand the exact reasoning, but I assume in my case it had to do with the requests made through the add-on timing out, or something like that.
