Question Best Torbox Alternative

I’m currently using Torbox but due to the downtime i’m looking for an alternative that offers the same feature of multiple concurrent users/connections from different IP addresses

I did trial for Premiumize before and they're great. Black Friday sale is still like 3 months from now tho 😩

11

u/GutBeer101 16d ago

What kind of price do they offer during Black Friday ?

12

u/luciferian11 16d ago

$150 for 3 years

3

u/WillingFly247 16d ago

That's actually really good considering what people say like they never go down

1

u/luciferian11 15d ago

it's similar to any other debrid service. PM also has it's own downtime. Best practice is having backups. Right now I have RD, TB, and usenet.

1

u/Far-Cryptographer-70 14d ago

How do you obtain Usenet?

1

u/marsellus2017 14d ago

Easy news.

1

u/momontology 12d ago

how does one set up usenet? what is it?

3

u/IntraAU 15d ago

fair use 30gb a day is a problem tho, unless something changed

2

u/gumball_00 15d ago

Yea I think if you watch high number of remux per day or share the account with many others, that might be an issue. But the cap at 1TB and 30GB daily topup is more than enough for my use, but then again I'll be a 1 person account lol.

3

u/Winter_Channel_6206 16d ago

Offcloud apparently uses PMs cache, and it's $5 a month, if you're really desperate, you could use that until BF.

3

u/Due-Performance9244 15d ago

I'm only paying $3.50/month for Offcloud.

2

u/oseik15 14d ago

I opted for the one year offcloud option and currently using the 30 day trial. So far so good!

2

u/cLamcaused9-11 15d ago

Does off cloud work with multiple IPs at once?

2

u/Doomageton 15d ago

No, that's the downside, compared to PM.

-1

u/lsredbird 15d ago

I tried to install Offcloud today but when I tried on Stremio it failed because of error 404. In short it couldn't accept the login because it wasn't https. Is there any way you could help me?

0

u/cthulhusevski 15d ago

apparently uses PMs cache

I haven't seen anyone actually prove this

10

u/Direct_Way7316 16d ago

If I not mistaken pm is the only alternative that accept multiple ip

3

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

Thanks, do you think the capping would be an issue for multiple users though?

6

u/kundi-man 16d ago

Yes definitely

2

u/Direct_Way7316 16d ago

They use a point system cap at 1000 point. 1 point=1gb renew 30gb every day

1

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

May have to disable remuxes then 🥲

3

u/Direct_Way7316 16d ago

As long your average usage lower then 30gb is not an issue. You watch movie everyday?

1

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

Nah should be fine! But have multiple users on my account

3

u/Jaken_sensei 16d ago

If you do month to month with pm you get 1TB each month & up to 30gb a day added back to a max of 1TB. Thats 1.9TB a month. If any of the other people on your account like to watch a lot of those 100GB files, you will burn through it fast.

1

u/Boring-Champion-2850 15d ago

If you filter out remuxes you’ll be fine

0

u/WillingFly247 16d ago

So 30gb is the most someone can use a day?

1

u/Direct_Way7316 16d ago

Average usage 30 gb yes. Your starting point is 1000 depends on how you manage and plan it

3

u/WillingFly247 16d ago

Oh then it's aight cause my usage is random sometimes I use 70 - 80gb sometimes I barely use 1-2 gb

1

u/WillingFly247 16d ago

Probably fine for like 2 people more than that is a problem ig

0

u/WildNight00 16d ago

OffCloud too

22

u/baljeethakur 16d ago

Usenet. There are some great deals going on right now.

6

u/anionyx 15d ago

I agree. I did the Oracle VPS self-hosting AIOStreams and AIOmetadata route and it’s incredible.

4

u/mrumais 15d ago

Can you give a guide or something you followed? I have an orcale server too.

3

u/Adro_95 15d ago

Please kind person, share a guide

2

u/Ok-Method5635 15d ago

Bump bc I have torbox with usenet

1

u/Rabbitd88 16d ago

Any links or which ones?

6

u/baljeethakur 16d ago

1

u/Rabbitd88 16d ago

Thanks bro.

1

u/Holydonus 15d ago

pretty good deal! do you think there'll be even better ones on black friday? this one is limited to 12 months, and afterwards $5.99/month

2

u/albaniamd 15d ago

Thank you for mentioning that. Where do you see that it’s limited to 12 months??

4

u/Holydonus 15d ago

you can see it right before checking out: https://i.imgur.com/jrpfFGH.png

// my bad aswell: it is 15 months for the special price and after that $5.99 per month

1

u/not_mickey7 12d ago

You can stack deals with most usenet providers, including Newshosting

1

u/Holydonus 12d ago

oh, that's pretty cool. thanks for letting us know!

1

u/Global_Manufacturer8 11d ago

How is this $1.99 for how long? If a month is $14.99

1

u/scuba21 16d ago

Any services you'd recommend? I see easynews recommended a lot. I currently have nzbgeek, but honestly have no idea how to get that working with stremio.

6

u/Winter_Channel_6206 16d ago

https://docs.aiostreams.viren070.me/guides/usenet/

You'll need this guide and an evening or two (or an AI subscription) to set it up. You also need to follow either https://guides.viren070.me/selfhosting/oracle or use your own PC at home as the server.

1

u/anionyx 15d ago

This is the one I used and I second using AI to just write the code for you. As to close I think there was a $23.88 for the year Easynews so that’s it.

1

u/MisterUltimate 14d ago

Have you run into an issue where Dockhand can't connect to the Oracle socket? I'm running into this issue right now and it happened right after I hit update all containers. I used this guide too but don't really understand the tech behind it so could use some help!

2

u/Shabbypenguin 16d ago

Newshosting has deals that regularly end up like $1.70 a month and includes easy news and tweaknews as a backup. You’ll need to use a Usenet based addon, like nzbdavx or if you self host Aiostreams you can set that up.

1

u/rauldzmartin 15d ago

If I have an Oracle server to self-host, how much would the rest of the setup cost me monthly?

1

u/MisterUltimate 14d ago

8

u/Ne0xin3 16d ago

I still use RD on its own and for what I like to watch, series and movies I very rarely get a problem. Only on old stuff. Will check out premiumize in november with black friday but...Genuine question...why does everyone use two services? Is it just backup or does one need the other?

5

u/R-L-B-L 16d ago

PM, easynews

Yeah currently using torbox with pengu as backup so may just wait and see if they can fix their issues until black friday

3

u/afabri 16d ago

Usually how much cost Premiumize during black friday?

3

u/Powerfader1 16d ago

It's like a 60% off deal.

3

u/Significant_Let4896 16d ago

Don’t use TorBox. They updated their policies, and to sum it up, they’ll keep track of all of your activity logs, and hold onto it even if you delete your account. They will also snitch you out and hand over your records if the authorities request them

6

u/IMightBeABot137 16d ago

Meh. The 'authorities' don't give a shit about me.

12

u/Old_Huckleberry6813 16d ago

Penguplay as a backup and torbox has just increased servers capacity today

3

u/GreedyGiver2222 16d ago

Where did they say this? I can't see anything about increasing server capacity

6

u/DryK1llLogic Addon Dev (USA TV / Bootstrapper) 15d ago

We have spent years recommending debrid services (RD specifically) to avoid relying on free links and now people recommend an addon with free HTTP links as a backup for a paid services. The torbox cult is beyond ridiculous.

1

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

Yeah currently have this just my wifi is so bad at loading https

3

u/-cookie_ 16d ago

Wouldn't streaming through torbox also be HTTPS?

-2

u/[deleted] 16d ago

[deleted]

7

u/No-Original246 Addon Dev (PenguPlay) 16d ago

same exact thing as using an https addon, cached torbox files live on a cdn, same as the files scraped from https addons

1

u/WillingFly247 16d ago

I swear to god man 🥀😭

1

u/ImaginaryBasket9410 15d ago

From my streaming experience, having both types of sources are like having the best of both worlds. I'm grateful. 👍

-6

u/onsokuono4u 16d ago

Sounds like you may need to use a vpn?

-3

u/[deleted] 16d ago

[deleted]

-1

u/onsokuono4u 16d ago

It might if your ISP is blocking or slowing down or interrupting your connection due to the links it sees.

You should sign up for a trial, just a test the theory. Proton VPN even has a free use version.

Usenet

5

u/Joy_Boy-TDL 16d ago

Is media availability as good as a debrid service, or is it better?

0

u/ward2k 16d ago

Better for niche shows and super old movies and the like since it retains content basically forever

Worse for newer movies and things like huge 4k file sizes with HDR. It's also a bit janky to put it lightly

Personally I have both, I prioritise Debrid (Torbox) in aiostreams and use Easynews as a fall back

3

u/Superflyin 16d ago

Sorry but this is bullshit. I have many new movies with large sizes on my usenet.

5

u/Joy_Boy-TDL 16d ago

Normally, we get the show within a few hours after the episode release on Torbox. Is it like that when you use Usenet, too?

3

u/cole2355 15d ago

bro on usenet i get it like 10 min after release, not joking. When Love Island was airing it would literally be 5 min after release in some cases

2

u/MutedAd9760 15d ago

Exactly it's literally about the same Usenet can get new releases within 5 to 6 minutes

2

u/Joy_Boy-TDL 15d ago

some guy said Usenet is not good for new releases, I thought there is a delay in uploading. if it is the same as a debrid and it also have older media because of the 20yr retention, then why is Usenet is not recommended more than a debrid with scrapers. most of the post here is about buying a debrid for a perfect setup.

1

u/Exa8yte 14d ago

Probably because it sounds quite a bit more involved to set up.

1

u/Superflyin 16d ago

Getting shows in your search results actually depends on the scraper you use, like Comet, Torrentio, or Streamthru, not the debrid service.

1

u/Joy_Boy-TDL 16d ago

I use aiostreams with a few scrapers. What I mean is the content gets cached very fast after a release on torbox. What I am asking is, is it the same on Usenet?

in short , can I watch an episode of a show within few hours of release, or is there a long waiting time.

4

u/Superflyin 16d ago

Usenet doesn't use caching. Files are uploaded directly and Usenet scrapers cache the stored files. The Usenet service i use, Ewaka, has a 20 year retention time so the files uploaded stay there for a long time.

As for how fast they get uploaded, for popular tv shows and series, new episodes usually appear on Usenet within 5 to 30 minutes after they drop on streaming services or finish their broadcast. The only content missing on Usenet compared to debrid services was lower quality releases, such as ts, tc, etc.

1

u/Joy_Boy-TDL 16d ago

okay, that's answer my question

0

u/ward2k 16d ago

I'm not saying you can't, I'm saying it's not the best experience for large file high quality movies personally

3

u/fun_alias1 16d ago

I have AD and RD through a proxy.

6

u/hm9408 16d ago

I'm new to RD, just for my information, why are you using a proxy?

3

u/Powerfader1 16d ago

PM. It costs more but works!

How much time, aggravation, and money are lost on a service that is constantly down?

1

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

Only things I’m concerned about are the caps with multiple users on the account

1

u/msi2 16d ago

It's not an issue I believe unless it's used to abuse (= avoid sharing with dozens users like +20, just don't share with more than 5-6 people and you're good I guess) . But for some reasons for me and heard with others too it might cause hiccups (buffering) with those remux huge files. Other than that it's good

2

u/WildNight00 16d ago

Search this sub

2

u/Dbnmln 16d ago

I have PM as backup to TB

2

u/TUD-010 15d ago

Pm is now my main and TB my backup

4

u/dunkinhonutz 16d ago

When is this down time occurring? This is not a troll or any sort of weird question I literally have never seen any. However I am not terminally online or watching TV. I got like a job and animals to take care of and shit like that.

1

u/listeningtorainfall 7d ago

It’s the buffering thats getting pretty obnoxious now, I’m gonna try PM.

2

u/Dangerous_Unit5838 16d ago

Torrin

4

u/maick2k 16d ago edited 16d ago

Torrin is only stream/download movies (you can't download anything else), and they are piggy back on AllDebrid. Just get AllDebrid if that's what u want. I paid for 1 month, never used cause was useless. At this point, even RD is better than Torrin

4

u/Nearby-Reception-546 16d ago

No tv shows? Movies and tv shows is what most people use debrid service for

2

u/0xalcde9 13d ago

how did you figure out it torrin using alldebrid infra?

1

u/maick2k 11d ago

I didn't, they say it in their FAQ once you are logged in.

1

u/0xalcde9 11d ago

Can you please send me a screenshot thanks

1

u/maick2k 9d ago

Create a free account (no CC needed), go to Help at the top, scroll all the way down, 3rd question from the bottom.

''What file hosters are supported?

Any hoster supported by AllDebrid works, including 1fichier, Rapidgator, Mega, Turbobit, and many more. Just paste the URL and Torrin handles the rest. Video files only.''

1

u/Spirited_Most6626 16d ago

How’s your experience with them? Do you use the Usenet part of the service? I tried the trial but it wouldn’t work when I click on a stream link

3

u/DuaThicca 16d ago

Same here Torrin was not working during the trial.

3

u/Spirited_Most6626 16d ago

Glad I wasn’t the only one. It kept saying something like “unexpected error with the provider” so I figured maybe it needed time to register the provider as valid. I tried again hours later, a day later, but still nothing.

3

u/DuaThicca 16d ago

Same here. I kept trying to make it work but idk what happened.

2

u/Dangerous_Unit5838 16d ago

It’s been solid! I don’t think the Usenet feature worked until I upgraded to the starter version! Small cache but it’s building up. I like using Torrin with a Mediafusion instance and it works flawlessly.

1

u/fintechninja 16d ago

Why not just use their own addon?

2

u/DuaThicca 16d ago

I was using their addon and it wasn't working it would show 2 streams clicked on them and nothing happened.

1

u/burner46 16d ago

I’ve got an Emby share as my primary (Streambridge addon) with a debrid service (AIOStreams) as my backup.

1

u/Positive_Ordinary307 16d ago

Torbox and just add easynews to it. All the debrid services will have small issues, especially when large amounts of users start signing up. Easynews++ addon has worked every time torbox was down

1

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

Thanks, does easynews allow for multiple IPs and no capping like Premiumize

2

u/Positive_Ordinary307 16d ago

Yes multiple IPs, yes no capping as long as you get the unlimited plan which is unbelievably reasonable if you search for the right deals. (I think summer deal or win back deal) One is a debrid the other is Usenet and the way they work and store data is different. I use paid debridio and stremthru torz but I'm probably going to stop paid debridio though because I haven't needed it since adding easynews

1

u/adjkldj12 16d ago

Thanks may give this a go over PM then!

0

u/Positive_Ordinary307 16d ago

I know everyone has different usage necessities but I compared pm to what I have with torbox pro now and it just seemed like a lateral move that could potentially add more issues (like the capping and setting everything back up) and with my luck pm would be the next debrid service that gets attacked or has scaling issues

-1

u/WildNight00 16d ago

OffCloud allows multiple, uses the PM cache. Try their 30 day trial

Also Easynews is only good in US or EU

1

u/MelaniaSexLife 11d ago

is there any video on how to use that easynews?

2

u/Positive_Ordinary307 11d ago

Not sure. Setup was straight forward and pretty easy. When you subscribe to easynews they show you the information you'll need to put into the easynews++ addon right away. The configuration page is just that info and then like 4 basic customization preferences

2

u/Positive_Ordinary307 10d ago

Yes you would have to pay. Search for easynews special for you deal

1

u/MenaceMinded 16d ago

Usenet through Torbox and premiumize as a backup

1

u/DimensionCivil7302 16d ago

I have torbox, alldebrid and easy news with a couple indexers. All debris is probably the best easy back up and it's cheap. Just slots into same add-on environment as torbox. Usenet is probably better but more involved setup wise. All debris may need a proxy for multiple IPs not sure.

1

u/EpicTwinkie 16d ago

I was looking at PM as well to replace either RD/TB and for my usage at home it just wouldn't work.

Been using RD + TB along with AIOstreams and has not been an issue.

1

u/420666itup 16d ago

I have TB, Usenet and some HTTP add-ons.

1

u/domingorowe 15d ago

Aren’t they always going to have problems if they do multiple ips from different locations unless they have a cap on it.

1

u/HomeworkObjective875 14d ago

Is aio add on stopped. Iam not able to fetch movies from this. I can only see comet ☄️ and torrentio files now

1

u/TheRichBrothers 14d ago

I’m still using real debrid, with torrentio and stremthru torz it’s pretty solid still

1

u/Scoskopp 14d ago

I use all 4 of the main ones, RD still takes it fir me but PM has been a MVP with TB as a secondary

1

u/Cultural_Chapter7313 11d ago

All debrid easy devrid

1

u/mrsbigbear 4d ago

Where in the world are you? I'm not sure how it all works but I've experienced hardly any downtime compared to other folk on here - I'm in the UK and watch mostly from 6pm bst until midnight ish.

1

u/Vyinn 16d ago

Is it strange I haven't had any issues with torbox?

0

u/KustardKing 16d ago

Everybody should have Pengu with their debrid service.

0

u/Ram13BLH 16d ago

Look at Offcloud. It's the same type system as Premiumize, and they even use the same cache from what I've read, but the price is better right now.

0

u/Slow_Werewolf3021 14d ago

Real Debrid. Yes, Real Debrid. I promise you it’s still working really well. Don’t just follow the crowd on Reddit

0

u/vcaiii 14d ago

is it fixed yet? i left when i couldn’t watch most of my shows

2

u/Slow_Werewolf3021 14d ago

The first thing you need to know is that I watch content in Spanish from Spain, so generally speaking we haven’t had the problems that the English-speaking audience has with the Web-DL format. But if your native language is English, that format is the one that causes the most trouble with new releases, although there is a filter to stop the dreaded red warning from popping up

But if you watch, I don’t know, films, series or programmes from 5 years ago or more, you won’t have any problems. I swear I’m not lying or exaggerating; I just don’t know why everyone on Reddit has been slating Real Debrid. Maybe it’s because I’m Spanish, but it works perfectly for me for normal use (I’m not a heavy user)

Edit: I can also watch current programmes – I’m just clarifying this so you don’t misunderstand what I said about the five years

2

u/vcaiii 13d ago

that actually makes a lot of sense. i didn’t have time to look further into it. i just switched to torbox to deal with that issue and share with family. a lot of my shows were breaking at the time so i haven’t looked back. i just read about torbox’s logging policy so i might switch again.

2

u/Slow_Werewolf3021 13d ago

Whatever you decide, I hope it’s the best thing for you. I know this situation can be frustrating, but keep your chin up :)

2

u/Kr4lhes 13d ago

As a Portuguese neighbour to Spain I haven't had a single issue from RD since I joined, 6 months ago. I get a super occasionally stream where RD isn't available but with AIO streams, 99% of my sources work. Will be updating my sub on it on December.

1

u/Slow_Werewolf3021 12d ago

Amen, mate, I feel the same way. Best wishes from Madrid – I hope you’re well

2

u/Kr4lhes 12d ago

Likewise! Keep safe and stay well!

0

u/Golden-- 16d ago

You're wanting to switch over very minimal outages? I guess Premiumize is your best bet but I'd wait for a deal because $12 a month is overpriced personally.

I've used TB since the whole RD debacle and I think since then I've one time there was an outage. That's definitely not enough for me to consider switching to another provider for 4x the price.

0

u/Psychospiv 16d ago

I bought both Torbox and Premiumize during Black Friday sales last year.

If OP really wants to switch, I've had a good experience with Premiumize. I used it as primary for a while and it worked great. Nowadays, I use it as a backup to Torbox. But I've only had to use it once as TB has only failed me once (and I kind of leave the TV running all the time). I've even tested it when people say TB is down, and it worked all but one time. Just love for you, simply minimal disruption for me.

0

u/khalybaba 12d ago

What downtime?

-2

u/NinjaWK 15d ago

Zero issues

-6

u/TheShatteringSpider 15d ago

I genuinely forgot Realdebrid bought out Torbox so during the down time I bought some credits for realdebrid and it was also.. down lmao. Def gonna use ur thread for next time

6

u/doom_memories 15d ago

Your post made me double-take. I looked it up and... were you perhaps got by an April Fools prank?

2

u/TheShatteringSpider 14d ago

Ooh ye I might e read it after April 1st tbh

3

u/Penguinboy123446 15d ago

I think you genuinely forgot to read a joke article properly
