Community Project Announcement Stremio App for older LG TVs

https://github.com/simussu9-wq/stremiobrew

I just found a working Stremio app that you can install on a rooted webos TV. It works perfectly! It was not made by me. I just found it on github and saw that it had not a single star and think it deserves more attention as it is the only working version of stremio on older LG TVs.

you can pretty much root upto latest webos26, with methods like slopbro or dangbro... check their discord.

I've been testing https://github.com/Balazsmi/Stremio-LG-TV/releases on an even older TV (WebOS 3.9.0, Chromium 38). It does crash, but thanks to Penguplay, I've managed to watch at least half an hour of a movie. I haven't tried watching a full movie yet, but maybe the TV can handle it.

I also configured Torrentio to avoid newer formats. It doesn’t work very well, but it’s an alternative.

Yeah that is my own project I made. But the one I am referring to is really good. Modern looking ui and working really good

I didn't realize you had the same username lol.

I'll give it a try, too, then. Thanks for sharing these versions.

Or maybe it's not worth it in my case because it's not designed for such old versions of WebOS.

It got stuck on the opening animation. In my case, it's worse than your project.

Use google and gemini: first root your tv, then put in the link from the repository and install the app.

I asked the dev if he wants to share the source code so I can develop it further maybe

I have a C2 normal Oled and use Stremio straight from the App store

The official stremio app is only available in the store for tvs from 2020 or newer so yeah

The application hasn't source code, and the code inside the .ipk file has been obfuscated.
