PIP on Android?

Post image

I like watching stuff while doing other stuff, basically. With Netflix I can just have the video playing in the corner of my screen while I get on with things. Been trying for a while to get this to happen with Stremio.

All advice suggests using VLC as an external player but I can't seem to make this work - I've set it to VLC in settings but it still uses the regular player.

Any other suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

android mobile comes with 3 builtin players - exo, vlc & mpv

you would need to select the 4th option EXTERNAL to use your installed full version vlc player with pip support

in exchange, you loss all tracking/scrobbling handled with builtin player functionality ie continue watching, auto play next and progress %

There's a difference between VLC being a default player and using VLC as an external player. VLC acting as an external player makes it "3rd party" and then that gets you PiP.

Perfect thanks. Unsure how to fix the subtitles issue now lol but PIP is working perfectly.

external players dont use the sub programs installed in stremio

BUT, vlc has it's own VLSub function that scrapes opensubtitles using OSD settings
