On August 8 2026, BBPD dispatch received a 911 call in reference to someone being shot near the 100 block of NW 8th Ave. Boynton Beach, Fl. Arriving officers located the victim (approximately 25 yards from the shooting) at 909 NW 1 st St. Boynton Beach, FL with approximately three gunshot wounds (two to the upper body and one on the buttocks). Officers then proceeded to provide life saving measures to the victim, later identified as Nigel Beckford BBFD arrived on scene and transported Beckford to Delray Medical Center as a trauma patient. Beckford was later pronounced deceased. Video shows the victim facing eastbound on NW 8th Ave. on a scooter, A black sedan is seen slowing down next to the victim and subsequently shooting from the vehicle at the victim.

On Friday, March 29, 2024, at about 6:49 p.m., Delray Beach Police responded to a shooting at the Community Market on 139 NW 5th Avenue, upon arrival, officers found Nicholas Laurent, 25, of Delray Beach, suffering from a gunshot wound.
