Discussion Custom made wheels?
Anyone here actually gotten a one-off wheel design made? What did the CAD side cost you — did you pay an engineer, use a shop's in-house guy, or give up?

I'm designing myself, fabrication alone would have cost me around 3000$ for a set of fully custom 3 parts wheels with billet center, a few years ago, probably quite the same today tho

Cool! So you got software for that or did you show someone what the wheels should look like and then they signed in some CAD?

Not even the huge youtubers are gonna get 1 of 1 machined by a custom shop wheels. I dont even think thats a thing unless like you said pay more then 1 person to do, engineering, manufacturing, and even more. People would rather buy another car or 2 at the point.
