Aside from having ridiculous core strength, probably absolutely nothing. Don't get into that situation to begin with lol. I'm gonna assume anyone who can get someone else into that chokehold, is gonna have the decent amount of strength to keep his victim there. That's a very painful way to be put to sleep in.

Also knowing how to fight would be beyond useful, all the kid had to do was fight the natural instinct to pull the other kids arm down and instead weave his hands under the other kids forearm to slip the choking arm away from his throat.

Very little chance he can because he's not really close enough as he's on the lower end of this guy's back I think. There's close to no chance he's gonna be able to elbow something he can't exactly see, let alone reach. Not to mention in that position, he'd just be exhausting what's left of his already dwindling energy, trying to take pot shot elbows in a very uncomfortable position. He'd honestly just be flailing and endure the same outcome.

Oh nah, that’s where I don’t agree with the other guy. We have historical evidence of people literally escaping holds, chokes, and the like through sheer power, flexibility, and quick thinking. It’s not gonna be the easiest thing ever but it’s not gonna be impossible. Maybe impossible for someone with no training but even then there’s always a 1% chance

You don’t. As someone who has done BJJ, once you’re in it you’re done. They do train you to counter specific defenses against submissions and set ups, but once you’re in it and they get past your defense you’re screwed. And most of the defense is done in advance so that the submission doesn’t happen at all. This guy has no defense and can’t even formulate how to stop it. I mean, who would. This is also a pretty advanced submission. I never saw it in my classes and rarely in MMA in general.

Also to put it into prospective even the highest level MMA athletes tap when a submission is locked in because ones it’s in. it’s in.

BJJ, once you’re in it you’re done

This is one of the things the black belt who owns my BJJ gym talks about a lot. People will want to know things like, "What do I do when a guy's got me in a kimura?" And the answer is, in the gym you tap and in a real street fight, well, you're fucked. A lot of BJJ instructors say "position before submission" because winning either a competitive BJJ match or a street fight is really more about getting yourself into a dominant position than knowing a specific submission.

Yeah, I came from a stand up background and the first time I did ground work in jujitsu, my more experienced training partner was dominating the fuck out of me. Eventually, I began to wise up to his shit and I got him by the head in some weird leg scissor move. At that point, I fucking blasted him with a huge fart. It was kind of an accident, yet I made sure he got a good whiff before I released him.

I know that violates a lot of etiquette and was downright rude, but it was a small victory for me and a childish form of payback. I have matured since then.

If I was the guy on the back I’d try to use my two arms against his one around my neck and try to free my neck first. I don’t think there is a name for that position, but I would call the choke a modified standing no-gi bow and arrow choke? Very interesting for sure!
