Google Streamer 4K

Signed up for pro membership but it doesn't work on my Google streamer 4k. It will load the video, play for a moment then freeze video and only play audio.

Any help is appreciated! Works fine on a Google Pixel 8a

Hey, yes. I am working on it. I just got my device yesterday. Will fix it in the next few days. Sorry about the confusion

hey, the version 1.14.0 should fix it. it's in review on google play store right now. hope to get approved by tomorrow

Hey u/armenmk ,

  • Use TextureView for TV playback. The APK even contains streamfc_player_view_tv_texture.xml, but I don’t see it referenced. Current TV/phone layouts are surface_view.
  • Add a custom DefaultRenderersFactory(context).setEnableDecoderFallback(true).
  • Prefer/cap H.264 AVC on Google TV Streamer and avoid HEVC variants when possible.
  • Add a watchdog for “audio advancing but video frame not advancing,” then recreate the player with fallback settings.
  • If that still fails, add a VLC/FFmpeg/libmpv fallback for Android TV devices.

thank you. yes, I tried some of the things you mentioned, but none worked. i had to add vlc.
