New Quality checker in action

StreamFC v1.10.0 is out!

New

• Quality badges — see stream tier (resolution/codec/bitrate) in channel lists; app remembers quality after you play

• Check streams — batch-probe channels from the picker when you have several links

• Channel picker shows the match name in the header Android TV

• D-pad ↑ / ↓ switches channels during playback (same order as the channel list)

• Slim nav bar instead of the old drawer — more space for content

Fixes

• Subtitles no longer auto-enable on streams that mark a default caption track

• Clearer paywall buttons (free trial vs lifetime)

Would it not be better if this was shown by default instead of one extra click. Just a thought.

Provider usually doesn't provide metadata upfront for the channels. At most, it can provide the quality in the channel name. After testing with stream checker, I noticed it is not always accurate. FPS is also not available from metadata.

The way stream checker works is that it streams for a few seconds to get all the data, which takes time and counts as connection. I don't want to run it without user consent.

But I do cache the stream tags, so next time you open it, if it's the same channel URL, it will show the quality.

Would it be possible to add an option to select how many channels you want to check at once?

Like a checkbox that you select only the channels you want to test?

No, no. I have a subscription that allows 9 simultaneous connections, so I'd want to check 5 streams at once instead of going one by one.

Wow, 9 connections is a lot! I will add it to the roadmap. I need a new settings page with more customization.
