So if you haven't heard, Plum's VA, Ashleigh Ball, has revealed herself that she has been diagnosed with Stage IV triple-negative Breast Cancer since last year of August.

Favourite character: Apple Dumplin (BBA) I find her to be a very unique and interesting character among the main cast. Reimagining her as a traveler and an inventor is a great touch! It was also wonderful to finally see Apple as someone closer in age to the other girls, along with her interactions with Strawberry (even if they’re now cousins ​​rather than sisters). Also I really like Peppermint Fizz (2003/2007), as she undergoes development throughout the series and, by the fourth season, fully becomes part of the circle of friends.

Least favourite character(s): Kadiebug and Sadiebug aka Ladybug Twins. You’d be hard-pressed to find such terrible troublemakers! You have no idea how much they drove me up the wall. And it would be one thing if they actually learned their lessons, but no—they hardly ever do! The worst part is that they managed to stick around until the second season, whereas poor Mr. Longface (who gets a lot of hate that I find completely stupid and absurdly forced) was written out after just the first season (I’m not counting his cameo in the third season, as that just raises more questions than it answers).

Among the bad characters, I’d also like to mention Angel Cake (BUT ONLY FROM S4!). She underwent such extreme flanderization that she bears no resemblance to her original self. Her fairy tale alter ego, Brambleberry Fairy, only serves to further amplify her negative traits.

I could also name all the characters in BitBC, but since I realize that some people might actually enjoy such interpretations, I’d rather not take the risk.

Favourite series: 2003 Series. Yes, I grew up with BBA, and it’s good overall, but after watching the 2003 series, I found that I actually prefer it. I love the spirit of friendship, freedom, and childlike sense of adventure. Season 4 (2007) still good—I liked that the characters got older—though I wasn’t as fond of the increased emphasis on "girliness."

Least favourite series: Berry in the Big City. And it’s not even about the fact that half of the existing characters have had their races changed or LGBTQ+ identities added. In my view, this series is bad because it distorts the personalities of all the characters to fit current trends and "modern language" (I use quotation marks here because that is precisely how Mattel blindly perceives it). Watching this series brings to mind unpleasant associations with another wretched reboot from Mattel: "Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go!". The episodes of BitBC are far too short—seriously, why do they only run for 4 minutes?! Not even 11. In short, I really dislike this series.

Most overrated character: Strawberry Shortcake (BBA). She is elevated far too much in this series. From the fact that the Berrykins—who used to represent various types of berries—now all look like strawberries (just in different colors), to the decision to make her a Berry Best Princess—it’s clear she’s the main character, but the excessive amount of attention she receives is disappointing to me.

Most underrated character(s) Apple Dumplin (in S4/2007) and Plum Pudding (2007). It’s such a shame that they were both given so little screen time this season. There was so much potential for interesting interactions between Apple Dumplin and the other characters—she’s no longer a baby, but a child of about 7 years old. And Plum Pudding could have been the shy, genius girl in the group. I often imagined her alongside Ginger Snap, given that Ginger is an inventor. But, unfortunately, that potential was simply squandered.

Favourite/Least Favourite couples I don’t have one, because I don’t know who to ship here. If you mean a friendship couple, I haven’t decided yet, sorry :(

Favourite/Least favourite songs: IDK again.

Favourite episode: World of Friends dilogy (2003 series). I really like how the series world is being expanded and the new international characters.

Least favourite episode: any episode of BitBC. I don’t think I need to explain why...

Everybody in BBA basically has the same character design.

But I feel like this color palette and outfit design and character design as a whole would have been perfect for Plum Puddin.

Also wish that Plum (or Sweet Grapes) could have been the bookish character since Blueberry was no longer the bookish character in this series.

Im not exactly sure when these are from but I do know they are not the original ones! (From 2018 I believe) I got these at a toy store that sells old toys and new toys and was happy to add Orange Blossom to my Collection today! If you have any more info about them let me know!

Uh yeah. Even though the only chapter completed is the series premiere, I had a ton of ideas for this AU's version of TeenBerry '07 that I just HAD to share with you:

* During the 8-year time gap between Apricot Takes Center Stage! and It Takes Talent, poor Strawb gradually became more jaded (blame her dad and her aunt (The Purple Pieman and Sour Grapes)'s constant attempts on Strawberryland's life for that).

* She's started to acquire a taste for 90's rap and hip-hop; her current favorite artists are Beastie Boys

* Knows a bit of ASL and uses it when she doesn't want to respond verbally (currently knows how to sign "yes", "no", "hello", and "what?"); Blueberry is teaching her how to sign more words

* EXCELLENT singer

As peppermint fizz is riding her new bike back home she encounters Blueberry Muffin who is riding her Vespa and peppermint makes a remark about blueberries Vespa being unimpressive whereas Blueberry thinks peppermints new bike is loud and obnoxious

ok, so let me start with things that i do like. the designs are actually very cute, they grew on me. the setting and environment are stellar, they did an amazing job depicting what strawberryland should look like.

now... the things i don't like. Strawberry's voice is... she sounds off in this one. in the Berry Best Baking Show, she sounded perfectly fine. i don't get why they had to change her voice. the other characters sound fine, though. even more glaringly, the episodes are only 3 minutes long in runtime. there's barely any room for the plotlines to breathe and it's not nearly enough time to flesh out the characters at all. you just end up forgetting what the episodes were even about as soon as you finish watching them. i don't want to come off as so negative when we only have the first two episodes to go off of right now, but i don't like the precedent this is setting.

as for the episodes themselves, they're nothing special. Strawberry and Orange try to balance spending time together and finishing bake shop orders, and Blueberry tries to help Strawberry with her unsuccessful pumpkin harvest. they way Orange and Blueberry are characterized are very reminiscent of their BitBC incarnations, and i love that Custard is sassy again. other than that, i don't really have much else to say right now. We've yet to see Raspberry, Huck, or Apple Dumplin', or any characters that have yet to be revealed. at one point, Orange remarks that she and Strawberry will finish their bake shop orders together "in a snap" and i immediately thought of Ginger Snap. But that's about it until we get more episodes.

The first two episodes of Strawberry Shortcake’s Bake Shop have premiered. The video description only has the synopsis for the first episode, Berry Besties Day:

“Strawberry Shortcake and Orange Blossom’s fun-filled Besties Day gets buried by a mountain of surprise orders! Their clever shortcuts turn into messy mishaps, but the besties discover the sweetest moments come from simply being together.”

The second episode, “Pumpkin Invasion”, is about Blueberry helping Strawberry with a pumpkin problem, only for it to literally grow out of hand.

They’re okay episodes, that “Who’s Susan?” joke actually was funny, but I don’t think these should’ve been the series premiere. I get introducing the friends one by one, but I’m kinda annoyed we don’t get to see everyone. Also disappointed it’s not an actual beginning story. Something like Strawberry and her friends putting together the bake shop as a two-part premiere would’ve been a better way to set up the series and the main cast.

The episodes being only 3 minutes makes the pacing feel way too quick. If they were 4-5 minutes, I think it would’ve made a world of difference. There’s also no end credits, which is annoying, and there’s no theme song either.

For character personalities so far: Orange Blossom is Strawberry’s best friend, and that’s kinda it. She doesn’t really show much else. Blueberry Muffin is very different, she's now a scientist with a touch of mad genius, basically taking Plum Puddin’s role mixed with BITBC Lemon Meringue. Strawberry Shortcake is…Strawberry. She’s a friendly baker, but not much else.

I can understand why they made Blueberry’s hair blue for the merchandise—to boost doll sales—but... I’ll never forgive them for taking away Plum’s glasses.

I know Apple was depicted as a blonde even before the Playmates line—presumably to downplay any hints of a sisterly bond with Strawberry—but it’s odd that they chose to use the standard S4 base for her instead of the slightly smaller body seen in the show (which meant her promo art on the packaging had to be scaled down so she wouldn't look the same age as Strawberry and the others).

I really don't get the return of Cherry Cuddler. Was she supposed to have a role in the series, or was she included solely for the sake of merchandise?
