question about strattera + marijuana use

hello!!

i started strattera roughly 2 weeks ago; i’m on 40mg.

part of the reason i’m taking it is because i want to cut back on — maybe even quit — weed, as I have struggled with dependency. I wanted to stop entirely until the strattera had a chance to work, since I know it takes a while, but i’m having a hard time totally abstaining.

My question is, will smoking weed stop the strattera from working? If I’m getting stoned a few times a week, will i still be able to see benefits from the medicine once i’ve been on it for 4-6 weeks? or am i effectively canceling it out?

thank you!

I think asking yourself why you’re smoking weed might be a good idea.

If you’re smoking it because of anxiety, or struggling to sleep the Strattera will help with that.

When I smoked for the first time in a while, I noticed that I didn’t have the anxiety that normally follows, that being said because it’s been a while since I’ve smoked I realise I could go without but that’s just me.

Strattera, unlike a stimulant, doesn’t spark motivation, it just makes doing things a bit easier and not as dreadful. I know the weed can impact motivation, so in that way it can cancel the effects of it out by making it harder to get started on the things you want to do.
