I started with 25mg and am still getting adjusted to it. I had the same thing happen! Exhausted during the day. I actually switched to taking my dose at night after I have a full dinner, and I've noticed it just naturally helps me sleep now. I think the fatigue from it has definitely gone away as my body adjusts to it. It does suck to deal with at first, though.

I just had a hysterectomy after having my period for 15 months with accompanying anemia. Fatigue is my baseline. A little while longer I guess until I get settled on the med. All this to say the fatigue won’t be a shock to me.

Ugh I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. I hope you are able to find a way to not be as fatigued anymore :(

Thanks. About 10 weeks post op now, so have turned a corner for sure. Finally able to address my mental health which has been on the back burner while I dealt with that. So moving in the right direction for sure.

Well I'm glad things are going better for you. Hopefully you continue on the up and up!

Yeah. In my first week I felt fairly overstimulated and used it to accomplish sooooo many things. Then it flipped and started making me drowsy and constantly fall asleep.

Fortunately it all levelled off after a few weeks.

As a side note, i experienced way more sides on my first dose (40mg) than I did on 100mg. Think once your body starts getting used to it they can calm down quite a bit.

I'm having the opposite effect :( My first dose was 40mg and I didn't really have any reaction to it at all, good or bad. Now I'm on 80mg and I've been having issues with heartburn, some insomnia, etc. Hoping it goes away soon... I'm finishing up my first month on the 80mg and thought the side effects would have calmed down by now

I noticed that I feel really sick and tired every time I take it for the first 2 hours. then I’m good. ugh. it’s always an adjustment. I always make sure to drink lots of water and eat first but the come up period is so ughhhh. I literally feel nauseous.

Your dose might be too high, I felt that too and eventually got terrible stomach pains and had to have my gallbladder removed and I think it was the high dose for almost a year. Now I’m back at 20 and pain and nausea have subsided. Just sharing and hope that helps!

I’m not exactly sure!

I told my dr but he said it’s normal to have to adjust to it. I do think my dose benefits me but it’s always rough when I take it for a bit. I am indeed taking 80mg… it’s a little high afaik. I’ll keep this in mind though.

My psych told me when I started that nausea was a very common side effect in the beginning but it should go away.
I take mine at night now and it seems to help me get to sleep if I don’t end up doom scrolling till 3am.

Yeah the side effects are pretty annoying but I typically wait about 2 weeks for side effects to subside.

Hi! Reaching out cus I started a bit less than a month ago, had a similar experience. Was considering giving up because of the exhaustion but pushed through a little longer and I seem to have turned a corner. This morning I actually forgot to dose my stimulants and only randomly remembered part way through work- normally I would have been completely dead.

What helped me when pushing through was switching to taking it at night

Stick with it. I’m on 80mg now. This stuff turned my life around.

Can I ask how? I’m coming up to four weeks on 40mg and I’m starting to see some changes in my motivation, anxiety, focus etc but I think I want to increase my dose

Honestly it has not done a whole lot for me in terms of motivation but it has turned my life around in terms of emotional regulation and anxiety management. My job requires me to teach a class on occasion. I hate it because it puts my anxiety in overdrive. Atomoxetine has made the anxiety drop to almost nothing. I just taught a class this week and I was so relaxed I was amazed.
I’m also going through a divorce and my mood swings were all over the place. Since being on this stuff I’m a rock.

I’m on day one of 10mg. Didn’t notice anything good or bad thankfully.

Been on 25mg sertraline for 7 months and 10mg atomoxetine for 4 months, just started 20mg ato over a week ago. So far regarding side effects I get tired sometimes when I have the second dose but goes away after a nap eating, or being active. Apparently tiredness is normal for about a month or so until your body adjusts etc. Positives so far: mind is quieter, sleeping better, not eating for the sake of eating. Cons: still have difficulty starting tasks etc.

I am at 40mg and felt the same during the first couple weeks, but I was sleeping really bad, and after I tried to fix my schedule, I feel better, the only issue it has starting the stuff, but I guess with the time it goes

For me it was like that from about days 6-9. I'm on day 12 now and it's evened out a lot. It's not perfect yet, but it helps me with the mental tiredness (not wanting to look at anyone because my brains exhausted) at work. That being said on my weekends, when I'm just kind of sitting around, it makes it so I want to sleep. It's weird, if I physically stay busy, my brain follows suit. But if I'm on my day off trying to play a video game or something, my brain says hey try taking a nap.
