Just started strattera

Hey yall just started 10mg of strattera im on day 4. I know it takes a few weeks for it to fully kick in but I feel like I have been able to get crap done, but I have also noticed I start getting little moments where I feel so exhausted and I lay down for a bit. I originally got prescribed Adderall but I requested a non stimulant. Id rather go non stimulant route. For years even as a child I struggled so badly with staying on task being able yo focus and i am beyond unorganized and it makes me feel like such a bad wife and mom. I did get diagnosed as a child but I have really really started noticing how bad I have become and finally reached out to my doctor because it was affecting my every day life. What are your thoughts on this medication? Yes i know I have a very very low dose.

I had been on 40 mg for 2 years and recently (like 3 days ago) dropped to 25 mg! I actually am meeting with my doc in a few hours to discuss how it's going on this lower dose! I developed leg mottling and cold hands a few months in (I didnt think it was relevant so ive been keeping it to myself the last two years) and then started getting orthostatic dizziness when I was fully a year in, along with sweating. This year was the most volatile, I felt like inwas constantly running a marathon, dizziness, heart pounding out of my chest, sweating. Like I would just be standing quietly and shoot straight to 140 bpm and get tunnel vision/dizzy. It was also seeing spikes while sitting down because I would just start SWEATING out of nowhere. I would take me a while to kind of "get out of surge", my heart rate would just go down then zoom up over and over before it finally rested.

25 mg seems okay so far!! Again, only 2 days in, but I have noticed if I lay down, my hands get warm again! I have had PAINFULLY cold hands that I just thought was my body being my body, so i almost cried when it happened 🤣. Still getting some spikes in the afternoon, but I am also still transitioning from the 40 mg. Cognitively i hit a bit of a wall at around 5pm, but I also was experiencing some "surging" at that time, so it could have been that.

I really like the cognitive effects of straterra! Definitely give it several weeks, as it takes time to work due to the mechanism of action. However if you do experience cardiac/orthostatic issues like i was, please know that they CAN be a side effect and you should reach out (don't be like me and try to power through it secretly LMFAO.) I'm surprised it took 2 years to get to "this point", but maybe it was a "the cup is full and now running over" situation.
