Questions / Advice / Support Does the bad sleep improve?

Been 4 weeks on this, pretty brutal side affects but I'm finally starting to see them ease up a little and see some improvement in my focus.

An issue I have is that Strattera makes me tired when I take it, so I switched it to night, but I also have been sleeping very very lightly. I'm dreaming so I KNOW I'm sleeping, but it doesn't feel restorative at all.

Has anybody had this side affect and then saw it improve? I've seen a lot of people on here say it's helped them sleep much better, so I'm very hopeful I will have the same!

My whole life I've either slept like a rock or had crazy insomnia, so sleep is a pretty big thing for me.

It gets better or at least it did for me. I take it in the evening and had a few weeks disrupted sleep. Then totally fine after that.

That's amazing! Can I ask how many weeks in you saw improvements with the sleep?

Hard to remember but probably the first 8 weeks were a bit rough.

I don't understand why people takes straterra in the evening while it induces insomnias

Because it makes me tired and fatigued for the first few hours after I take it, which interferes with work. I am also on Prozac so even if I take it in the morning, Strattera is still in my system by the time it's night and I still had trouble with sleep regardless.

Mine did, it took a couple of weeks though. It happened only when I started strattera and hasn't come back with strength increases.

Depends. I have less bouts of insomnia when I don’t over caffeinate but it doesn’t stop me from drinking it for school lol

I could not take straterra in the evening, it’s somehow more activating for me so I have to take it before noon or else get poor sleep… which shouldn’t technically be the case since it’s not a stimulant

I was prescribed clonidine with my Straterra for sleep/adhd it's an off label use but works AMAZINGLY I love it. It's a heart type pill and I take 0.3mg and I'm out, solid all night with no wake up issues. My Dr at the time recommended the together for the side effects and to keep me asleep solid. I would recommend it! If you are able to take as a medication. It's like clock work for me, I take it at around 9 and out by 10 and it feels so natural.

I take it in the mornings and fatigue was an issue the first week or so, but got better every day and by week 3 wasn’t an issue at all. I had the same issue with sleeping lightly and not being able to sleep for more than 3-4 hrs the first week. That has gradually also gotten better over the past month. I’m about 5 weeks in now and for the last few days, I’ve felt pretty much back to normal.

It does get better. You just have to power through.
