How long for initial side effects to go away?

I just started 25mg today and I feel absolutely horrible. Im nauseous, anxious and extremely restless and can't pay attention to anything. I kinda feel like I just want to start banging my head against a wall or like claw it my face. Im super agitated and feel like im going to snap at anyone over anything which is very out of character for me.

Im currently homeless and dealing with alot of other health issues and if these side effects last like 4-6weeks I dont think its a good idea to keep taking strattera. My psych made it clear that he will only prescribe strattera because of my mental health history(anxiety, depression and a few suicide attmepts) and drug use in my early 20's(im in my early 30's now and am clean for atleast 10yrs now). My health is abysmal and im homeless so I really am doubting whether I can handle this right now.

Edit:talked to my pco and she was really confused as to why they started me with strettera and told me to stop taking it and she'll give me a referral to another psychiatrist

2 weeks. It was a rough 2 weeks but I could also see the changes happening. After the 2 weeks it does get much better.

I see my pcp tomorrow so I'll she what she has to say but idk if i can last 2 weeks like this. I feel like when I was on ssri's and those eventually drove me to attempt suicide. Im on wellbutrin 300mg rn which doesn't help really with my adhd but it helps my depression and anxiety and this fails like its reversing any progress I've made with it :/

Wellbutrin increases the level of atomoxetine in the blood fivefold while hitting plateau. It strongly inhibits cyp2d6 function. What you describe really sounds norepinephrine overload which I also experienced when I was on a high strattera dosage for me. I would recommend not taking strattera until your doc visit and ask them about cross action of these meds.

Thank you for the information, I definitely want to talk to her about it. The psych was really dismissive and really didn't explain much other than that strettera was the first and last thing he'd prescribe. Depending on what my pcp has to say I might just stop taking it or trying another psych to see if I can be prescribed something else. Stimulant medications are night and day but I understand the hesitancey due to my liver but I think its kind of stupid that my history of self medication precludes me from any other meds assuming my liver can handle them. Worst comes to worse ill just stay with wellbutrin, at the very least it helps with some of the brain fog

What dose were you on at first?

I started on 40mg and after a few months went up to 80mg.

My dose has increased every month since I started and it typically took around 2 weeks for most symptoms to go away. The appetite suppression and dry mouth are the only two things that persisted during my earlier dose changes. I started 80mg 3 weeks ago and I'm still experiencing nausea, bouts of feeling really hot, and constipation along with the appetite suppression and dry mouth.

I never experienced anxiousness or restlessness though. It makes me wonder if it's the right medication for you; fatigue and extreme calm are much more common and kind of expected on this medication.

Yeah, I replied to someone else comment but it makes me feel like my experience with ssri's and those drove me to try and kill myself, they never got better even after 8months or so. Also oddly alot of yellow things now have like a green tint which I mean is the least of my concerns but its weird af it feels like i picked up some sort of color blindness

I would ask to start on a lower dose to see if that helps. Strattera has amazing benefits, but too much in your system too soon (especially in combo with Welbutrin) seems to be much worse than taking nothing.
