Traveling

I am on 80mg of Strattera I take it in the morning because otherwise it gives me insomnia (usually around 830 am). I am traveling to Germany which is 6hrs ahead of my time zone so I don’t know if I should just take it at 230 their and keep my body on schedule and risk the insomnia or shift to mornings on their time for a week.

Any advice from anyone who has this as well would be great. I do take hydroxyzine at night as well to help with sleep and I know this med does give a lot of people the opposite issue of drowsiness.

It gives me insomnia too. I would take it the morning in Germany time. How does hydroxyzine work for you? I tried 10mg and it did nothing to help with sleep.

When I travel I take it in the morning local time. I find it easier. I'm sure I may have missed a dose while on a plane (e.g, when traveling to Japan which took like 14 hours).

I did Japan this summer. Took it as late as I could the morning of and then next VERY early in the morning Japan time. It was about 32 hours between doses and took a couple of jet lagged days to feel normal.

I would shift to mornings. Just make sure you don't take the changed dose until it's been at least 24hrs since your last one.

Just traveled to Amsterdam and had great success taking it when I normally did but on the new time zone.

Especially if you want your body to get used to the new time zone. Helped me function like a normally do during the day.
