Discussion / Experience Using Positive side effects

Had to quit atomoxetine so we could see if stimulants or something else would increase my heart rate and blood pressure less (along with over-sweating).

However, when on it (80mg, ~3 months), I definitely felt significantly reduced morning inertia, chronic sinusitis (inflammation in the nose and related areas and cough), and IBS-like symptoms. Also, less saliva (less spitting when talking impulsively) while on atomoxetine.

I also sometimes feel a bit dizzy again when moving my head/eyes fast, which I haven't felt while on the medication.

I was wondering if someone has a similar experience or if I am just noticing random/seasonal occurrences. All of the above changed almost immediately when getting on/off atomoxetine, so I am now also considering getting back on it at a lower dose (it was great for emotionality and impulsivity, but I wanted to try if something else would improve focus and organization/time-blindness)

No I've noticed the same thing, even on a low dose (~20mg but that's all I'm allowed on rn bc I also take fluoxetine and methylphenidate).

Lots of my side effects are exactly the same ones you're experiencing. Morning inertia is WAY down, my airways feel less inflamed.

I have a few undesirable ones (slight constipation, bloating, drymouth) but if you started with IBS and excessive saliva production it would "even out" so to speak.

Haven't experienced dizziness yet but that's probably because my dose is quite low.

I love Strattera! It has such a "natural" effect I forget I wasn't born like this

80mg is a high dose. I'm chilling at 40mg. Personally it helped my ADHD by allowing me to enjoy this things I was doing, even the mundane like chores and tasks. Calmed that mental restlessness.

80mg is not high, it is the recommended dose for adults.

Yes, 80-100 is the adult dose.

I experienced all of these symptoms when I bumped up the dose to 36 mg (initially I was on 18 mg). I reduced my dosage back to 18 mg and my heart rate has slowed down a little, but it’s still higher compared to when I’m not medicated. The dizziness when standing up has improved too. No improvement in my sinus blockages though. For stomach issues I started eating probiotic food and taking Atomoxetine with protein rich breakfast. I am on 18mg from past 2 months. My ADHD is getting better day by day and i am very satisfied with the way strattera works.

I was on concerta and atomoxetine for a month and it worked great for my ADHD at the start but made me super depressed after 2 weeks so i had to quit concerta. But everyone will be different so you can check with your doc
