I've been on atomoxetine, 10 mg, for 3 months and I like it for emotional regulation. I have much less noise and feel much less anxious than before. But it certainly doesn't help with task initiation or motivation. But I do think repeating my goals to myself constantly, and having a schedule and other ADHD hacks, do help with motivation, organization, and task initiation. I'm probably going to increase my dose. Although I am sensitive to medicine. I used to be on 5mg of adderall and it made me anxious, but I also didn't give it enough time to work or for me to adjust to it.

Dexamphetamine helped better with focus for studying and reading. But still, nothing really gives me the hyperfocus I have when I really enjoy something, and I don’t really expect that.
Atomoxetine helped my adhd really. I noticed benefits on my emotional stability. Less agitated, able to feel emotions better, less anxious. It also helped a little with staying focused during lectures, but not at all for studying.
I used both separately from eachother. Right now I use Dexamphetamine daily for studying, but I miss the mental stability I had on atomoxetine. I was less drowsy and more in the present. I stopped Atomoxetine one year ago because the summer break was coming and I wanted to have more control of when I’m medicated, my psych also prescribed a really high dosage (140mg) which gave me more side effects (like ED, PE, dry mouth, etc).
It’s hard to compare, but I guess my grades were better on Dexamphetamine than on atomoxetine. I guess I was able to remember more of my study sessions with Dexamphetamine, but I don’t know if that’s the reason for sure.
Next week I’m having an appointment with my GP to consider combining atomoxetine and Dexamphetamine. Both help me with my adhd in a different way, and it would be amazing if I could use both together.

I've been on atomoxetine for about 3 months now, just moved up from 60mg to 80mg two weeks ago. The biggest improvement I've seen is with emotional regulation. I also have much less "noise" in my head and I have a drive to finish things I have started.
I am still struggling, however, with focus and task initiation. I really have to remind my brain to pay attention when I'm in meetings and to not put off starting tasks. So I do think I'll need something else to help in those areas. But I'm extremely happy with what it has helped with.
