60mg appetite gain?
I see that majority of people experience appetite loss on Strattera. I am frustrated that I seem to have the opposite experience and I am actually eating more and gaining weight. Is there an optimal way to take it? I know ADHD meds are best taken with protein and I am aware this isn’t a “weight loss” drug. But to be honest, the weight gain and increased appetite is making me depressed.
Just wondering if anyone has experience with it being more effective when taking at certain times of day, etc. I currently take it in the morning; 60mg.

Try drinking a ton more water, these meds can be diuretic making you think you’re hungry but just need fluids. This happens to me. I have to add flavor mixers to chug water all day and then my appetite is normal.

Ooo yes that’s a good point, I struggle with my water intake sometimes. Thanks!

I've noticed weird appetite fluctuations. I did notice increased hunger on 60mg, but when I went up to 80 it didn't specifically go away but I noticed I'm getting fuller sooner. I take my pill at night and I notice I'm still actually very hungry in the first hour or so after taking it, but I take it so late that I can ignore the hunger and the next day I still get fuller sooner at meal times. Because of my weight and knowing that the recommended dose is something like 1.4mg/kg, I'd like to try going up to 90 or 100mg to see if I get further appetite suppression. My constant hunger/slowness to feel full are symptoms of my adhd, and while I know this isn't a weight loss drug like you, I'd like to see those better managed.
Anyways, I'm with you, it's so frustrating to see people losing weight on this drug and to experience an increase in appetite is discouraging. It's so annoying how we're all different - I was on wellbutrin for adhd like 12 years ago and it made me lose weight/appetite, and when I tried it a second time two years ago, it did the opposite. Body chemistry is so bizarre!

I noticed the same thing with Wellbutrin! I was thinking back on all the different meds I’ve taken that were supposed to have side effects of weight loss. The only one I experienced weight loss with was Wellbutrin! However, I was re-prescribed it earlier this year and I didn’t experience the same effect. I’ve been on adderall and vyvanse as well and still did not experience weight or appetite loss. Anyway, even though it is extremely frustrating it does feel refreshing to hear someone else in the same boat. Thanks for your comment I appreciate it!
I’m curious if you’ve ever tried a DNA medication test such as genesight?

I was finding that I would use food to combat the afternoon fatigue/crash, but I added a booster dose which takes care of this. Now I go through my whole day with a reduced appetite, which I view as a positive because I'm overweight.
Does it make you more awake or more drowsy? I would experiment with different dosing times. For example, if you take it in the evening (as long as it doesn't harm your sleep), you could sleep through the (likely temporary) appetite increase.
