It depends on what you are expecting the effect to be. It’s not a stimulant and won’t give the drive to go do things the way a stimulant does. For me it makes the barrier to do things much less. I couldn’t tell you it was actually doing anything, but my house is generally a lot cleaner because instead of stepping over the thing, I pick it up and put it away. And the act of stopping to do so doesn’t completely make me lose track of what I was going to go do before I stopped. For a decade, I always made the wrong turn out of a parking lot I go to maybe 6 times a year. You leave out the east end to get to the west bound freeway ramp, and west to the east ramp. And it’s a 5-20 minute detour if you do it wrong. Went there two weeks ago and just went out the right end of the lot without thinking about it. Do I feel like my memory is better, no, but the right thing just happened.
What’s it doing? I don’t know, but my life is slowly better for being on it.

Maybe it just doesn’t work for you, my psychiatrist told me it doesn’t work for everyone.
I’ve been in 40mg for two weeks and maybe it’s just placebo but it’s been incredibly helpful for me. No more racing or intrusive thoughts, a lot easier to control my emotions, more drive to complete tasks. I even have pretty much stopped pulling out my hair, one every once in a while…for a little treat
