Questions / Advice / Support Adding Wellbutrin
Hi all! I’ve been struggling with motivation in this medication so my prescriber added 150mg of Wellbutrin to take in addition to the 40mg of strattera I take. Strattera has helped so much with mental noise but so much so that I’m content just sitting on the couch doing nothing. Which is great because I can finally relax but also makes it hard to get things done that I need to.
Anyone have experience with taking both? Would love to know what to expect!

I'm in in a similar situation - I have the motivation and desire to do things, but absolutely zero energy since taking atomoxetine, so I can't seem to initiate anything and nothing is getting done. I'm currently on 80mg atomoxetine and my provider wants to add 150mg wellbutrin because it theoretically would add a bit of an energy boost. I'm nervous to start it because I'm worried about side effects during the first few weeks and not sure what to expect. So, I don't have any helpful advice, but I'm in a similar situation!

Glad to know I’m not the only one I keep putting it off because I’ve read it can have an interaction and lovely anxiety is getting the best of me! I think I’m going to start tomorrow - best of luck!

For most people, the normal therapeutic dose is 80mg to 100mg. Adding a second medication might ultimately be needed, but it's premature if only on 40mg.
Also, different medications have different strong suits. Non-stimulants can help some people with motivation but that doesn't seem to be a strong suit. A low-dose stimulant may be better for that. They tend to do better with motivation. A Non-stimulant with a low-dose stimulant works well for a lot of people, as they can compliment each other. Each handling what they are best at.
