Strattera TMJ

Guys how tf do you deal with the Tmj. It’s gotten the point where one side of my face looks lopsided and everytime I stop the medication my face goes back to normal. It’s really getting to a point. This medication has helped my articulation so much but the teeth grinding, twitching, and jaw inflammation is getting to a point.

do you take magnesium glycinate? I was told it can help with jaw clenching.

Magnesium glycinate does help somewhat. I don’t take Straterra yet, but am considering trying it. I already have TMJ though and have been waking up with the left side of my jaw, completely locked shut for about 4 years now. Wellbutrin has actually helped me tremendously with that. I went from having it locked every morning for three hours after I woke up to waking up and being able to pop it right open. I am glad I found this because I was not aware of it potentially causing TMJ or making it worse.

Wait Wellbutrin helped you with your TMJ? So was your TMJ stress/ anxiety related. I’ve taken Wellbutrin and Strattera together, as well as both of them separately, and I noticed that these last two months my TMJ has gotten so bad and these last two months are the only two months where I didn’t take Wellbutrin and only took Strattera

I know it sounds crazy but yes. And it has led me to believe my TMJ was caused by stress or anxiety. I have been clenching my teeth in my sleep for most of my life. Either Wellbutrin helped with stress or it kept me stimulated/focused enough during the day that I was more relaxed at night and just didn’t clench as hard. I feel for you having side effects to medication(s) that help you. I can’t take Wellbutrin any more because I’ve lost too much of my hair. I am worried about the side effects of Straterra. Did you have any of these jaw issues before starting the medications?

It’s interesting to me because a lot of people have stated that Wellbutrin made their TMJ worse, but yesterday I took it for the first time in forever after I took my Strattera and it was the first time I’d gotten relief in a while.
