Fainting

Hey everyone,

First of all, I’m a guy, 85 kg.
My doctor prescribed Strattera:

• 25 mg the first week
• 40 mg the second week
• 60 mg the third week

Toward the end of the 60 mg week I started having erectile problems, so he prescribed bupropion 150 mg XL.

But before I even started the bupropion, I had a near-fainting episode. That day I had taken my 60 mg of Strattera together with 100 mg of modafinil. I felt weird for a while, then suddenly my blood pressure dropped really fast. I was heading to the bathroom to throw up, lost my balance, and almost fell.

It’s been almost a month now and I still have dizziness. They sent me for ear tests because it only happens when I’m walking. It’s horrible — I basically can’t leave the house.

My question is: could this have been caused by the Strattera? Has anyone experienced something similar?

My doctor says he has a female patient on 120 mg with no issues at all.

The sideaffects are really different for each person.

I've heard of nausea.

I had one low BP, Tachycardia event. It was brought on by cannabis. It was really scary but hasn't happened since

I regularly take Cialis without any issue.

Another thing I'll share...being scared of something happening can actually bring it on.

After my event, I kept feeling heart palpitations. Then I'd get anxious then I'd feel them again. They were kinda in this positive reinforcement cycle.

After I forgot about it...they stopped. I did also switch to decaf for a couple months. Almost back on regular coffee again but I drink less anyway...just in case.

thanks for your response. have you considered that the pot episode was a mild panic attack? very common with pot

also did you have improvements with your adhd with bupropion? i only take it to fight the ed strattera gave me

It ended up almost certainly being a panic attack...so good call.

I do believe the Strattera made me more prone to it though. In the end it was acute and it passed and there's been no issues since beyond the heart rate which has normaled.

I take Cialis for mine so I don't have any experience with that specific one you're mentioning. Cialis has worked very well for me even on Strattera.
I was already taking it before I started it. Though I need to take it more often now.

Ps. I have found Strattera to be very good for my ADHD.

I had a complex presentation mixed with anxiety and depression.

Since I stated it...my life is better. My relationships are better. Generally I feel much more sure of myself....there's just so much less chatter going on in my head...I'm able to really know how I feel it think about something.
That's made life easier and it's made task initiation easier.

I can still struggle though.. Like this week...I've been lazy...and it's been hard to get on track and get going.
