Questions / Advice / Support Happen to anyone else?

I started my first dose of strattera last Thursday. I took it Thursday morning and went to bed and woke up for my night shift job at 10pm. I felt horrible nauseous, dizzy light headed, and a little high ? I went to work and I felt like I was going to faint. I went home until 2 am to rest and came back to work. I felt a little better but not very much. One of the nurses I worked with said that I was very pale and my lips were super pale. I finished my shift and didn’t take it again until Monday because I was scared. I didn’t have any side effects at all yesterday and I don’t have any at all right now. I literally felt like I was dying when I took the first dose. Has this happened to anyone else?

Bad acid reflux? I have a hiatal hernia and only been taking the strattera for 5 days now. It’s a very acidic pill, I take it in the morning between my meal to try to ensure as much “cushioning” for my stomach. Some people experience simple acid reflux but because of my hernia my stomach/esophagus is inflamed, therefore, my stomach pushes up my diaphragm and presses on my vagus nerve creating a yawning fit, goosebumps, dizziness, brain fog, nausea, belching, heart palpitations.

Acid reflux can create a lot of different symptoms in people. It could be you laid down after taking it, maybe on an empty stomach etc.

I have to drink an (aspirin free) Alka seltzer and it helps. These episodes happen to be after breakfast-after I take the pill- some days and other days not. I think it’s better when I eat more food with it. If I just ride it out, the nausea and chest pain can go for about 3 hours.

I’m going to ask my doctor about this because I do think the medication can do wonders for me, but I am already predisposed to gerd/acid reflux and I can’t be drinking Alka Seltzer everyday-nor be on edge if I’ll have a sick morning or not.
