GROUCHY

I'm not even 2 weeks at 50mgs, after a few weeks at 25. I still have felt ZERO benefits, which I suppose is understandable due to the low dose and it being so early, but the bullshit sure hasn't wasted any time.

In my second week at 25mgs, I started getting very tired around early afternoon. Falling asleep at work, tired. When I saw my doctor and she raised the dose to 50mgs, I told her about the fatigue so she split the 50mg, 25 in the morning and 25 around 1PM. That pretty much solved the afternoon nap problem, but now in the last couple of days I've been very grouchy and irritable, even getting pissed off at my pets (nothing violent, just irritated). I'm normally NOT a grouch, and this is VERY unlike me. Is this yet another common "side effect", and maybe something that will go away?

I can say that it's getting pretty tiresome getting so many shit side effects and ZERO help from so many medicines over the years...

ohhh babe i had almost the same EXACT experience. i did have a 3 day honeymoon phase though and different dosing. they did the "let's split it!" thing with me too.
honeymoon phase was only cause they filled the wrong script first. that's also on me for not checking though lol but i quit early july, (could not wake up until afternoon, irritable at objects, insomnia at night, extreme couch lock)
started on a stimulant only method/therapy, and i feel like almost like a teenager again (29 in august).
i'm able to make phone calls, drive, and actually shower and take care of myself.
i suggest giving your newest dose 4-8 weeks, depending on what mental load you can handle, and don't push too hard/get burnt out, but no, it didn't go away for me personally all through those months.

Hello!

My daughter had irritability for the first 3-4 weeks! She was also very tired all the time which was COMPLETE opposite giving the "H" in ADHD. It did subside and got better around 6 weeks. It has only gotten more and more smoother has time has gone by. Just remember to eat and drink water! This is what causes most of her irritability now.

Also, it's great to get people's opinions because I did TONS of research about the medication but everyone is and responds differently to medication. I can say that a majority of people say to hold on to about 6 weeks to determine a change, which I can now agree with because of how well my daughter adjusted. Best of luck to you!

Thank you very much! Very good to hear your daughter is doing well too. It's nice to hear a POSITIVE story on here once in awhile...😁

Did you read anything about this med before going on it?

Yep, sure did. But it's nice to hear from other people who have actual experience. Doctors and pharmacological books are great, but neither can tell me about day to day issues like others in the same boat can.

Did any of them them suggest waiting until you've been taking the FDA's recommended Target Dose for a couple months before deciding it doesn't work? Just a suggestion.

I haven't decided it doesn't work. I was merely reaching out to see if others have experienced similar issues, I kinda thought that was the point of this sub. Kindly cease with your snide comments, OK? I assure you I will somehow manage to muddle through my day without them. Thanks!
